I played this game like 2 years ago, it changes over time, and sometimes updates that you may not like, but always you can play by your way

I will preface this by stating that I've stuck around this website since I was a little kid, way back in the old PF1 days. Back then in particular, I found that the staff could be... a bit harsh/condescending, shall I say. However, since PFQ was made, I've noted a significant effort to cut back on this behavior by the staff. They are not perfect by any means, but I appreciate the efforts made. As for the gameplay itself? Entirely addictive. At first you'll be playing constantly to fill your Pokedex, and then move on to shinies, and later on to melanistics. The best part? Premium currency can be traded, so you don't /have/ to pay real money for upgrades. All it takes is hard work. One thing that bugs me a little is the aggressive nature towards newer players or little kids who don't understand how the forums work. Yes, it is a matter of reading the rules, which are very important, but if someone is young, is it really necessary to be so aggressive about how "tired you are of duplicate threads" or double posting, etc.? Another thing about the forums. Why, exactly, are they so uptight? It partially plays into what I just mentioned, but for example, in the Sprite Discovery thread, anything that isn't a new sprite gets instantly deleted, even if it's relevant to new sprites and has a place in that thread. And inevitably, some moderator will come along and threaten about how they'll delete/lock the thread because of this '''''spam'''''. Is... is that really necessary...? Come on... And why are threads deleted so often? I had an art thread that I used as a catalog of some Fakemon I made, but I hadn't been working on them for a couple months, so it got deleted. Does it harm anyone to have these threads up for longer periods of time? If you haven't already noticed, most of my issues with this site are with the social aspects. If you're just here to get Pokemon, I'd highly recommend it. It really is a good game. Just watch your step on the forums, because it feels like a minefield...

If you have any issues with the staff, you're welcome to bring them up to Garthic and we can try to address them. I will mention at the very least that threads are deleted for inactivity, but this is soft-deletion and it can be undone - you need only ask.

Honestly, I really like the whole aspect of the game. It's fun to be able to trade and compete, especially with friends, and I definitely love being able to interact with people around the world. Sure, sometimes it's a little tedious to handle because of work and school, but this game is overall definitely something I'd recommend for anyone who loves pokemon. I wouldn't say it's the best pokemon game I've played, but it's definitely one I love coming back to, no matter my mood or the time of day. The staff that I've met are really nice for the most part, (especially Niet, he deserves all praises), and being able to work as a whole to complete rewards and such is definitely motivating. I don't understand why some reviewers stated the rewards were difficult to achieve; everyone can only do their best, and it's not like the goals are impossible to reach. Heck, we complete the rewards at least once every week! How is that unfair? Anyhow, despite me getting off track, I've had a blast the entire time I've been on this site, and I certainly look forward to future updates and such!

Fated: "Large Game, Can Be Slightly Overwhelming, Good Time Killer"★★★★☆

This is one of the larger browser games I've come across. While having a seemingly endless options of activities, goals, and what not can seem great, it can be a tad it overwhelming, especially if you are new, or have taken a long hiatus. Although there is no set way to play the game, one must dive into the mainstream to obtain certain items, which, albeit, is how most things work. This is one of the main reasons I left, as with being a new parent I do not have the time to figure out the ever changing and growing environment. However to someone with a lot of free time, this is an excellent game that provides just the right amount of challenge. The staff are transparent and friendly enough, and more than willing to answer questions. They are some of the more professional and easily accessible inter-web people I have come across. I have been with PokeFarm since the days of PF1, and was one of the last remaining people to be with PF1 till it's doomsday. PFQ has been a great remake of PF1, combining the old and new almost flawlessly (save for a few bugs, but that is to be expected and understood). Niet, Garthic, Sei, and all the staff work their butts off what seems to be round the clock, and the genetics of the site reflect this. All in all, it is a 4/5 rating, with the -1 star being to how overwhelming things can be when you are getting (back) into the game. I read through some of these reviews before posting (particularly the negatively rated ones out of morbid curiosity, and I believe the staff (Niet especially), are well versed in handling rather rude comments without coming across immature and "I'm an admin i do what I like lalalala".

I've been around since the Old Days of PF1 and as much as I adored it, it was... kinda messy. Don't ask me how, I don't quite remember, but it seemed more like a bunch of Niet's (Kolink at the time) favourite things and issues just kinda rolled into a big ball of fun and confusion. PFQ has come so far from that, it seems... sleeker, and not just in terms of code and the like. Ideas seem more solid rather than fuzzy, and the odd mish-mash of things (Looking at the GS tablet monsters) has been picked out to make, overall, a pretty darn good site. (Side note: I loved the tablet monsters, but they didn't make much sense on a Pokémon website haha.) The staff, also, have come a long way. Like a LONG way. PF1 had some issues with some of the staff being... kinda unreasonable, unprofessional, kinda angry. But since PFQ, the staff have become a lot more like staff and a lot less like angry teenagers, they tend to be more approachable on the whole, and whilst there can still be patches, they are actively working on it and I'd like to thank them for that. A final note- the artist's community here on PF is no less than incredible. This is the first time I've seen artists able to price their work at a reasonably fair rate, and still receive commissions. You go PFQ. TL;DR Not perfect, but trying to get there and that's what really matters.

This game is very interesting and it is really uncontrolling about how the game is played and overall, this site is extremely fun! However, nothing is perfect and this site is no exception. There could be like a notification feed and maybe add an actual friendlist? These are just some suggestions from me but to all who has yet to try this site, please do come and join us!

Niet [Adam] replied: 05/May/2017 10:57:45 (6 years ago)

Actually, we used to have a Friend List but it caused more problems than it solved. That's why the VIP List replaced it. There was no benefit to "friending" people anyway other than having quick access to them, and the "random friend requests" were relentless. So that's why. As for the notification feed, what exactly do you mean? You get notified, you even get the option of desktop notifications, so... what's the issue? Please use the Suggestions forum for making suggestions, since we can't really discuss them here! :)

I'm a fairly new user, having made and forgot about an account ages ago (probably reaching 5 years ago, I don't remember the username let alone the password) but never really played, until I signed up here in October. Pros of the game: + Functional Site Not much to expand on this, site works very well on both mobile and desktop. + Beautiful Art Direction The sprites are very well made and color schemes for non-canon Pokemon (since canonical shinies can be... debatable in color schemes, in a lot of cases) are super visually appealing! I've found myself booting up a main-series game and wishing Albinos were canon... + Interesting Differences from Competitors Site-exclusive megas, site-exclusive Pokemon and variants, as well as albinistics and melanistics! + Working Sense of Accomplishment A lot of people complain how currency is hard to obtain, especially Zophan, and I can understand where they're coming from; farming long for something and not seeming to get any closer can be frustrating. I had to grind-click every day for near a month in the beginning to even get my pokeradar, and that was on a sales day, but in the end it's VERY rewarding. I've got myself hypermode, ubercharms, shiny charms, albinistic and shiny pokemon, as well as other buffs without spending a real-world cent. /The more time you put in gives out more!/ It's not for everyone! + Friendly Community I've had nothing but good experiences on the forums, dex-trading, buying, and selling alike. Everyone's very friendly and people are trustworthy! Cons: - Pay-for-Fun "Ramp" Not the biggest issue in my eyes, but is prevalent enough in the community to mention. Not everyone wants to log in and make 10-20k interactions a day for months to get enough credits to trade up to GP to trade up to zophan in order to make any progress or profit with the game WITHOUT paying. Gives players a sense of accomplishment when they finally achieve what they've been wanting for ages, but creates a rut in the beginning where players might lose motivation and leave the site. I left for two months after my first month, and I don't doubt that many other (former?) players have done the same due to the RAMP: not a paywall, since it's achievable to get there, but takes tons of work. - Repetitive Truly, Pokefarm is just a clicking game. If you aren't a fan of other clicking games because of how repetitive they are, I don't think you will get enjoyment out of the same thing in a Pokemon skin. Forum going can mediate this a bit, and some people may find Wondertrade and sparring fun, but the fact stays that there isn't much incentive to log back in regularly over a long period of time. (I haven't been able to break my current longest online chain of 25) | I can't comment on the staff since I haven't spoken with them myself, but it seems to be a somewhat mixed bag. I commend them on the work they do, though! And that's all I have to say! Thanks for reading!

I really, really like this site and have been pretty hooked. I also love the inclusion of non-canon Albino and Melatonin Pokemon. However, I can't give it a full five stars because the main selling point of it when I first found it, the realistic artwork, is now gone. That mixed with the tasks {tournaments} are a little lackluster and the fact we actually have to trade for those evolutions instead of having an alternative, like the Link Cable from the Mystery Dungeon Series, prevent a perfect score.

this is a decent game, but it needs more features and more creativity. there should be more things to do when hypermode is activated. more fun ideas need to be added, and updates should be often. but overall i love this game, and can be very addicting.
