I love this site and I agree with everyone who gave it 5 stars, but it's really time consuming and pay to win.

Me and my sibling both found this game recently and it's pretty fun so far---it doesn't take too much time off your schedule, especially when it's just to click a few pokemon and start a scour mission. While I'm not obsessed with the idea of ranks, I still enjoy filling my pokedex/eggdex and claiming the rewards. This site does have a LOT more users than the petsite I came from, making it more intimidating, especially with the occasional drama in the forums and whatnot, so I keep to myself unless it's to send someone a spar request. Some people have stated that this game is kind of pay-to-win/play, which I'm not fully against but at the same time don't understand. You can play the game without spending money, but at the same time you do need in-game currency to unlock WF or training, for example. Yes, in-game currency is nice to have for transactions with other players, but...as a requirement? Not my cup of tea. The art is very cool, especially the custom sprites! The legendaries are so cool, I want them allll! The fakemon are really well-made too and I actually mistook them for real pokemon.   I mostly just chill here with my pokemon and hatch some eggs. I won't do tournaments that often because I'm not an avid player who gets in 1,000,000 clicks a day, but still. Fun to check in on.

The only downsides are: There aren't more mini games for site currency, and there is no ability to revert visual changes the site makes. (Like when they altered albino sprites and made them all more monotonous. Really stung for me personally because the whole point of the currency and effort that went into obtaining that design was wiped away, and I can change code to get it back, but only I would see it. On a community-driven site.) There also is no general market* or forum search option, regardless of why they stated they can't or won't implement it, it makes finding Pokémon sellers and matching them with buyers harder. Goatlings and Flight Rising manages. *There IS a built-in market for items, just not Pokémon. There aren't a lot of player avatar designs worth buying into. Cosmetics are kinda... limited. You can't be a Pokémon, either. Have to have a human trainer avatar. No base or Pokémon house to decorate or put your Pokémon into, like a more fleshed out version of what pitiful thing we got in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon (latest). The closest we get are fields, which are limited in design options and how many Pokémon you can arrange in them. Overall, the staff are active and helpful, seasonal events (like Halloween) usually come with cute sprites, I do like a lot of their site exclusive (non-canon) Pokémon, updates follow game updates, it feels great when you meet community challenges via clicks or hatches, I've met a ton of wonderful people here. There's always someone willing to toss you a Pokémon you've been trying to get. And some people breed and release rarer Pokémon just to make our day! I'm looking at you, random person who gave me my 'mons. The site also won't eat up too much power; I can play a full day and my phone is still at almost full charge. You CAN add your own site themes, kind of like Google mail. There are a ton of guides in the forums, and premade themes, because people are awesome.

i've been deep into this game for a good while now; it stimulates something in my brain that i enjoy and has helped me through stressful times due to it being very low maintenance, while patience gets rewarded handsomely. i get this game isn't for everyone, but for me it just hits the right spot. i also get why there needs to be some premium elements. i was surprised over how easily you can play this game for free though! maybe that's just me; i've had a good time so far. i also don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but i feel like the game could benefit from having a second programmer at the very least. updates are small and far between, while i saw niet (the main and most likely only (?) programmer) saying he wants to work on other projects from time to time. i'd say having some more people would help, especially with getting this site out of beta limbo. that's a little strange to me. those things i can ignore though; the only reason i can't give the game the full 5 stars is that from what i've seen especially niet's behaviour is sorta worrying? he seems very snappy to me and that's why i often don't feel very comfortable participating in the community more. that's also what's holding me back from supporting the site financially, since the money would most likely go to him directly, as far as i know. if he has a hard time talking to people or having trouble being patient when talking to others i wonder why he doesn't have someone else either check his replies/announcements or have someone else speak for him entirely? i don't know, it just gives me a weird feeling. tl;dr: a nicely done game with a lot of thought behind it, a very nice and cool community and all in all the game is just exactly what i want out of a browser pet collecting game. the game dev just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth hence why i can't/won't support the site fully. if i see changes in the future i'll totally change my mind, since i do want to see the site grow and prosper, but for now i'll stand by this opinion. PS: albino pokemon have absolutely stolen my heart.

Thank you for the feedback. I agree that I am not the most social person, which is not great when trying to run a social game! However I am actively working to improve, as well as try to handle my stress more appropriately so that problems become less frequent. I would just also note, since you bring it up, that money spent here does not go directly to me. It goes to the company, Metaball Software Ltd, which pays me a salary for my work - and there are no bonuses for people spending money or anything, it's just a fixed amount. I'm open to discussing this further if you have more questions or concerns.

Fun game to have open on the side but feels somewhat grindy at times, some things definitely very difficult to get, and a little pay to win in some aspects Otherwise i enjoy it a lot and wish i didnt stop playing for two years

honestly i love all things pokemon . i collect physical copies of the movies , plushies , games , figurines , cards , accessories , etc . couldnt get more obsessed . so naturally im like . exactly the right audience for a game all about collecting your favorite 'mons , and this site is really good for that ! theres tons of variety ( also the incentive to actually interact with other people is a nice bonus . some online collection games can feel quite lonely ) my only real complaint is that some aspects of this game are pay-to-play , which sucks for broke ultra-completionists like me . if youre very very lucky you might find a melan or a shiny in the shelter , but thats definitely a rare occurrence . vaguely reminds me of those browser-based kids games that were technically free to play , but a big chunk of the accessories or whatever were things you had to get a membership for , artificially creating a hierarchy in the playerbase ( its not so egregious here , thankfully ) anyway , this is overall a very good game that clearly had a lot of care put into it . and hey , you can certainly still have fun without shiny hunting

Honestly? I arrived almost purely to... uh... train my patience. It worked. My first hunt took over 400 eggs for a special, and if I were on Switch, I would've given up on 50. Okay, I admit it, if you're not hunting things there's nothing else to do, but I stayed. I stayed. On a site where you could only hatch eggs and play word games in the forum. And why, I don't know. Maybe, being a writer, I enjoyed the games. Maybe I wanted to finally hatch shinies for myself. Maybe I'd made friends here, and communicating by typing was just that easier than speaking, cause of my social anxiety. Because this place made me feel in a community, and not just a random girl sitting alone with a friend at lunch. So yeah. Good job. Niet, I've scanned the 1star comments, and they say you're bad. Some 16-year-old still in his whiney stage. Racist. Obviously I wouldn't know, but I wondered. Because some other guy on Pokeheroes said the same.

Its great but needs "feeds". Public or friendlist feeds

Very fun when bored, does get boring easily but if you love collecting pokemon or training them it is a 10/10 for me. community is very nice as well.
