trashguts: "Surprisingly addicting"★★★★☆

Posted: 27/Apr/2017 21:44:23 (6 years ago)

I have bouts of inactivity here and there, but I always log on every day to at least keep my online streak alive. It's on of the only sites I've been active on for years, and I'm still not as close to filling my dex as I'd like to be. I'd especially like to note that this is the only website I actually prefer the mobile interface for when I'm on mobile. I'll force the desktop version of every other site, but the mobile interface is very well designed on PFQ.

Chryssta: "Fun to check on randomly throughout the day..."★★★★☆

Posted: 26/Apr/2017 17:22:34 (6 years ago)

...but not really something that I can spend a lot of time on. I want to give the site 5 stars. I really do. I'm here every day, either on my phone of borrowing someone's wifi on my computer, but I always check in. This site gets 5 stars for it's mobile setup. With smartphones being the way most people get their internet, its nice to see a site that understands that. But the reason my review is only 4 stars... The pokemon, both official and fanmade for the site, are great. Love being able to collect them. However, it's boring just to click things to get the exp to hatch eggs. There's nothing keeping me here for an extended period of time throughout the day. This is something to check on, click a few things, then go do something else. Thats not the only reason for the 4 stars. I've been in the 'chat room' once. The people in there are some of the meanest and most angry people I've seen online. You're lucky if they don't bite your head off for asking a question. And as a new user, that's not a good sign. Don't get me wrong. I've met a lot of good people here and have made friends with quite a few of them. But I won't go into forums or chat based on the response I got for asking a simple yes/no question when I was a new user. All that aside, the rest of the site is fun, though the tapping does get old after awhile. But the tournaments, the events, and everything else the admin and site creators throw together (like when Sun and Moon hit, they had an on going journal entry for a trainer who was traveling Alola and sending pokemon back through the computer to PFQ). It's amazing what they've done with the series. Plus, it's totally free to play it. And that's always a bonus, right?

Arsenal: "Very nice game!"★★★★☆

Posted: 24/Apr/2017 12:23:14 (6 years ago)

I've been playing almost for half a year now, and I like the game a lot. I have read through the other reviews and I want to point some stuff out as well most people might have noted down as negative. 1. ZC. I myself am a non-paying player, and still I have worked my way up to being able to afford hypermode every month + an ubercharm. I have a shiny charm box and 5 shiny charms and thus have all the extras a 'paid' player can get. There are enough ways to get your zc, if you browse the trade forums. I'm happy that the staff made ZC tradeable, as people don't seem to realize they could've kept this account specific. Not to mention that there are often events which allow normal users to get the 'ZC' goods as well, like last easter event and the 12 days of christmas. 2. The Market. The market is a very well designed concept. People might be complaining about the high prices, but to me it is only a real example of how the real world works. The market prices are derived from supply and demand. It only makes sense that during evolution tournaments the price of evolution stones skyrocket. It makes sense that after an event where people got premium boxes, or when new summons are released and people use a lot of lucky seals in order to get the new summons, the prices of the 'older' summons lower and you can grab them for cheap. Not to mention that I am 99.9% sure that you grab every underpriced item on the market you see, and aren't thinking: Oh this is priced too cheaply, I won't buy it. People with their own shop can determine their own prices, so the market is very well established. 3. Updates. The site gets frequently updated, and all of the updates improve the quality of the site. I am glad to see the site is so alive and bugs get fixed. Due to me being a programmer myself, I know how much time the team puts in this game. The code behind this must be mind blowing and I wish more people realized that a 'simple' change could take days and days of coding. Very good job! Now, next to the fact this site is so amazing, there is one little downside I'd like to adress: the variety of the tournaments. This season, season 3, there have been a lot of egg hatching tournaments. This is a shame for people who are hunting, and therefore can't participate in tournaments. Where season 2 had a lot of variety: hatching eggs, fishing, scouring, planting berries and several evolution tournaments, season 3 mainly consisted of egg hatching tournaments (7/11 tournaments have been egg-hatching related so far). Especially when you want to remain Arceus rank, it is quite hard to keep up with the 'Hatch eggs from the lab' or 'Hatch pokemon with color x' or 'Hatch pokemon of the day' tournaments in order to receive tokens and buy the egg. Then again it is a challenge, as Arceus ranking isn't supposed to be easy, but I wouldn't mind if there was more variety in the tournaments every now and then. Long story short: It's a very good game, and I like it a lot!

magikx: "Great game!"★★★★☆

Posted: 24/Apr/2017 10:52:05 (6 years ago)

Quite hard to get used to at first, but once you know the basics, it's a great game. Welcome to the world of Pokemon! -- Admin edit: The user has requested that the following be added to their review. The star rating is unchanged. -- n o t e: I'm a fairly recent player. Concept: This was the first ever site/game where you click and interact with other players in order to, well, proceed with the game. And it was definitely a great first! I find clicking a great way to waste time, and it's not like it requires much effort to do. However, a downside to this is that clicking other players' party doesn't really help you much. Of course, you can complete tasks, hatch eggs with the EXP share and earn credits, but that's much easier with massclicking - players often never clickback. This means I often find clicking parties pointless, and other players might so too. This was improved with the egg timer, but some of the 'clicking' part was useless. But anyway, an interesting take on Pokemon. The game sadly does get... tedious after a while? Shiny hunting? Ha the time I'll be able to fully shiny hunt without getting bored will be in a while. Arceus? Well, RIP my currency. Tasks? Really, really pointless in my opinion. Pokemon/Eggs: Lovely artwork and sprites, the fakemon are creative and adorable ;> The addition of albinos and melanistics gives shiny hunting a nice touch. The egg designs could be improved, since some eggs look very similar, but that's not the artists fault. Deltas, on the other hand, are an 'umm' for me. I guess it promotes getting guests to take a look at PokeFarm, but when the novelty of a new type wore off I kinda just gave up. I wasted lots of shinies on my Delta Cosmog and Delta Arceus, and I regret it now. No one really values them highly - I'd rather stick to shinies. Starting out: Since this was my first clicking game, I found it hard to 'get into' the game. I just didn't find clicking very exciting or fun. This means I kinda just didn't play after I signed up, and the only real reason I came back was because of my rather extreme obsession with Pokemon. The new egg timer will definitely improve other new players' experience, though. Staff: The main statement - the staff actually interact with the players. It kinda brings the community closer, y'know? No? Anyway, a lot of games the staff don't care or interact with the players - they sort of seem like gods or something. Many people have already addressed this issue, but I like mainstream stuff so I'm going to jump onto the bandwagon - the staff sometimes are rude and sarcastic. Go to others for a more detailed review. Events: Premium boxes at the end of events are a lovely bonus that makes for something for me to get onto my phone for (okay my grammar is terrible sorry), but now I'm almost at Arceus it doesn't make for good motivation anymore. Both the times I got one I got 2 summons, and both times they were rather common ones. The actual events - great artwork, I can see the effort put into it. Nice storylines, albeit quite short. Cute fakemon (*cough* Kinaster). Forums/Community: A fun community, and many nice people (of course, every tree has it's bad apples.) Some people are really salty, but hey you don't have to be on the forums. Not much to say about the forums, although when it comes to the trade shops section it gives me a 'grey/blue' vibe, while the trades section gives me a 'rainbow' vibe. I sometimes assign colours to things, but it's not anyone but my fault. Coding: The codes this site includes really helps draw people in to coding, which of course is great! Not too complicated (cough) or too simple (cough), and you don't have to use them. Design: The actual site is mobile-friendly, yet the mobile friendly version isn't any worse than the desktop version, which it always good. Layout could be improved, the clickback button needs to be bigger. The idea of skins means people can't complain about that much, though I wish it was easier to code skins. Maybe make it easier to go to the main page of PokeFarm, I like reading reviews (don't ask.) Currency: I have no problem with Zophan Canisters, since you guys have to make money somehow. But anyway. I feel GP is too common, and in general not a very sought after currency. I'm not sure what you can do about that >.< Interacting: The buttons hate me. That's all I have to say. Overall: The game is simple to play, but after you get far into the game (around Ace/Champion) it starts getting boring and less exciting in general. The updates to keep improving the site show that the staff genuinely care, and the community is fun. Give the game a shot ;> 3½/5 stars rounded up. also, im british and its nice to see a british thing once in a while i swear americans make up half the internet

this game is not only fun and addicting, as pokemon is an interest of mine, but it allows me to have something to do rather than do nothing! you get community rewards and daily rewards which makes it all the more fulfilling! the only thing i'd have to say is sometimes, lag in clicking can be frustrating for me though that may just be my internet connection.

there will be improvement. It will get better. Of course. But for now it's not at it's full potential. If that makes any sense. :3

Hey! I appreciate your time in reading this! I'm pretty new, so I think my first impressions will be useful. Pros of the site: -Great boredom reliever: The game is simple and pretty fun because it's open ended. If I feel bored I can maybe interact with someone's Pokemon or work on finding things in what's called the "Shelter" -Good for fidgeters: I tend to fidget, a LOT, so I think games based on things where you can tap and click many times is good for my sort of nature. -Interesting concept: This is one of the better fan games I've seen. It incorporates lots of accurate Pokemon information and I just love how it feels like a "real" Pokemon game. Cons of the Site: -Bitter Staff: I won't mention anyone in particular, but in my experience with seeing the Staff they kind of come upon as brash and for lack of a better term, snarky. I feel as if it'd be hard to talk to them or accidentally slip up in front of them. Though this doesn't really interfere with me personally, I'm still kinda paranoid about them. There was even an instance where someone didn't know why something of theirs was deleted and when they asked for a reason they got the response "If you didn't know what was inappropriate, then you probably shouldn't post it." I mean, I know working as a mod can be stressful, but please make me feel open to asking you guys for help. :/ -Boring AT FIRST: It can be hard finding out your goals on Pokefarm, but I wouldn't think of this con as important because you'll find out something you like doing on here, trust me! -Overwhelming to come into: When I came in I get the basic tutorials, but it took me a while to know most terms people use, and the purpose of a ton of locations never really mentioned in the tutorial. I catch on to things pretty quick, but I don't know about you. OVERALL: A really nice game! I love the concept, but as I mentioned, I sometimes get a bit uncomfortable or scared (Though this can be selective as I'm lowkey sensitive online) by the authorital figures here. I would recommend though!

kinda repetitive, but this is one of my favourite online pokémon games! Sure wish there were more poke-fusions though!

Nocticolor: "It's great, but I have my own personal issues."★★★★☆

Posted: 08/Apr/2017 09:28:58 (7 years ago)

Personally, I love PFQ. I wasn't here for the first Pokefarm so sometimes I feel a little left out, but I only found out about this through my sister, who found out about this site from another social media site. I think it's a great way to spend time if you have extra time to kill and it can kinda teach you how to organize things, especially in your fields with your Pokemon. Though I have my own personal issues that really, I can't have fixed but I can deal with them. I understand the donation thing, but I'm unable to donate because I live in a poor family, but that's not the Admin's and Mod's fault. I wish there was some kind of way for those who can't donate to make ZC but there would be so many scams and loopholes that I don't think an effort should be made. I wished that Shiny, Albino, and Melan Poke were easier to find but I understand that they're rarer and it's just a wish that I'm sure everyone wishes, but then that would kind of take out the fun and excitement of hatching one. I was wishing that there was some way of trading in currency for summoning items though, and I'd maybe make a suggestion for it but I'm still thinking of it all the way through. And In my experience on Tumblr and Quotev and other social media websites, people complain about the Admin's and Mod's being "rude" and "childish" but I never saw any actual proof??? Yeah, they seem a bit sarcastic and a tad bit snarky, but the staff work hard and dealing with a bunch of kids who think the admins and mods owe them something ??? In my experience, the mods have been really nice to me and on live streams, they are nice to people who ask questions in the stream. But overall I think it's a great website and the only issues are my own personal ones.
