All About Deltas
Forum Index > PokéFarm > Guides >
Hi, newbie here so got a ways to go before I unlock deltas (though been grabbing a few from the shelter when I see em)
So I get what they are/how to get them... but what's the point of them? Do they give any benefits/bonuses? Or are they just yet another thing to collect?
Just another thing to collect. They don't give any bonuses, and there currently isn't a way to see how many delta dexes you have total, though you can see the delta dexes you have in a pokemon's individual dex entry.
I hoard orkit!

I'd like to add something to this guide if its allowed... I made a table of the DP gains and losses. I believe everything is correct.

Expanding on @Eeveehart's table, I made my own table on DP prices. I've noticed that various sellers base their prices on or around them. Hopefully I did my math right. Feel free to correct me on any mathematical errors I might have made!
EDIT: Minor formatting update so the credits stays where it is no matter how you edit the table.

@emily jones you missed a 0 in the 5k ehp albino chart instead of 80000 credits you wrote 8000 same with shiny 10k ehp
thanks for the chart though ill be sure to link it in my bio instead of overexplaining how pricing works ^^

Reckon I'll drop in a couple of corrections on odds:
- V~Wave: 20% chance to influence Delta type
- Parent from other species: 40% chance to influence
- The remaining 40% chance, or if the parents fail to influence it, it will be random.
Technical details on the breeding influence mechanic:
1. Check the mother. If the mother's Basic stage is different to the egg's Basic stage, then the mother is selected.
2. If the mother wasn't selected, or on a 50% chance, check the father in the same way and select if possible.
(This means that if both parents can influence it, it'll be 50:50 which one is actually selected)
3. On a 50% chance, take the first type of the selected parent.
4. Failing that chance, take the second type if it exists, or the first type (again) if not.
(This means there's no bias towards one or other type for dual-typed parents)

Thanks for the info, Niet! That's all really good to know.
I'll update the guide next week, I've been super busy with nanowrimo and the tourney this week/month.
If the mother or the father is a charmander, you would have a 60% chance of hatching a fire delta on a fire v-wave. The parenting influence is set up such that if the mother can't be selected, the father would be, so they have equal chances of influence.
More detailed breakdown:
Scenario 1: charmander mother, squirtle father
20% chance v-wave makes egg fire type
Barring that, 50% parental influence affects egg type (meaning 50% of the 80% chance v-wave didn't influence the egg type, so 40% chance overall). In this case, the motheris checked and selected, having a different basic stage than the egg. 50% chance father is also checked, but found to have the same basic stage, and the mother remains selected, making the egg fire type.
Scenario 2: squirtle mother, charmander father
20% chance v-wave makes egg fire type
Barring that, 50% parental influence affects egg type. In this case, the mother is checked, but found to have the same basic stage as the egg. Therefore, the father is checked and selected, having a different basic stage, and makes the egg fire type.
In both cases, there's an overall 40% chance of the charmander parent making the pokemon hatch as a fire type, and a 60% chance of a fire delta if the v-wave is fire. (Well, about 62% chance, since the egg could also hatch as fire type randomly)

just to see if i got this right: let's say i want to hatch a fire squirtle, and assuming i hatch my eggs on a fire v~wave day.
if the mother is a charmander, there's a 60% chance to get a fire squirtle.
if however the father is a charmander, i should have a chance of about 40% to get a fire squirtle, since the mother is just as likely to be chosen?
I'm not sure about something - is it known whether it's the v-wave on day of delta-ing or v-wave on day of hatching that affects delta type chances?
