Yes, it's a free berry and you don't actually need to own one to feed Pokemon. The purpose of giving Pokemon a berry it likes or dislikes is bonus experience. If it likes it, it gets more experience. If it dislikes it, it gets less. If it's neutral, it gets an average amount. So, it's incentivised to not feed disliked berries. However, some people field click and don't care which berries they feed because they're after number of interactions rather than giving the most exp. It's a personal choice. ^^

Im still fairly new to the mechanics of this website/game, and I want to get a dusk form lycanrock and sylveon, which include affection. I know I have to feed them to get affection but I cant figure out how to feed them the items, and google isnt much help as it only explains interaction/exp points feeding, sorry if this is the wrong thread for this thanks to anyone who replies

Hello :D I'm not really sure if this question has been answered yet, but I have no idea how to evolve Pokémon that need 1.000 steps as an evolving requirement. How do I do this? @_@
