Kalos Recolours

The point I am making is that hyperbole such as "all new A/M recolours are neon green" is not helpful feedback, even if the person making it might have a valid point it gets lost in the extremism. That is all.

And that's how you should have lead imo. Rather than being snarky and coming off aggressive, it would have been better to express, "Hey, it's hard to take feedback with comments like this because it feels like you don't notice the cases where it isn't true" Tone matters, that's all. It wasn't even me who said it, but the response felt harsher than needed to convey the point

agreed. no need to be aggressive. and they have a point anyways. a lot of these sprite recolors are green or green themed, and it gets a little boring to look at. branching out into other colors would be nice. it doesn't matter if there are a few that AREN'T when the vast majority recently ARE.

Not to stomp on any toes and whatnot, but in general, the albinos and melanistics have been seeing a surge in green. Diance being the latest with both receiving green redos. A lot of melanistics have are what we in my friend group call "swamp green" and then albinos get the lighter green or similar we see with the albino Diance. I think the point we are trying to get across is that we need variety Niet. Not going to deny it, the green IS good sometimes, but we do need more than just that.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, some changes have been made to the Diancie sprites. I realise this isn't exactly what people wanted but it has eliminated most of the green in favour of blue

Agreed with the players above. Sometimes the green works- but I'm tired of seeing it and especially the muddy swamp green melans, they just look awful and I'm a little tired of seeing it now. I like many was legitmately devastated by the Kalos fossil recolours. Tyrunt and Amauras lines had in my opinion some of the best alt colours on the site.....and now are honestly a massive downgrade. I understand the team must have a creative direction or someone on the team must just really like green (and not all of the green alts or changes are bad) but without reason being communicated to the playerbase the overwhelming majority of swamp green melans and off green albinos is just confusing? and green itself is not the most popular colour to begin with.

i agree that some of the green melans are really cool, but a lot of times, it can look swampy. maybe we could make a suggestions thread for melans that we think were downgraded in their updates and have the most commonly noted ones looked at again? we all appreciate all the hard work that is done on the sprites and from the artists, and i realize they do this without pay and just because they enjoy the site. it's really good work on their part, it's just that everyone has different taste and sometimes the color choices aren't always suited to the majority of the player base's imaginations. we all have different minds and that's perfectly okay.

The updates to Diance are gorgeous, I was a big fan of the original melan and I feel like this refresh captures the spirit of the original while still falling in line with the consistency expectations of the art team!
