Site security update

Hi there Niet & Crew, I was wondering, will this happen with the comics too? Because I have never seen a part on it that makes you put in a link for your pages.

Yep! This is exactly what is being said :) For our users security on our website - it will need to be https: not http: At the end of the day, this is about protecting our userbase. the "s" in "https" stands for "secure" for a reason. Being insecure on the internet is like... Well, you wouldn't leave your house unlocked whilst you're not there, right? Or you wouldn't leave keys lying in plain sight so they could smash a window and grab them and then let themselves in. So when you're on the internet, it's best to not do those things. Sure there's the feeling of "it'll never happen to me", just like there is for the whole "house getting robbed"-thing. And I've had both happen to me. Not on PFQ, of course - but I hope my point is making sense xD Don't take a fool's gambit under the guise of "oh, it'll never happen to me"... Because then you're just making it more likely to happen to you. That's because you upload to our website. You're not linking it from anywhere else. This means we host it, not anyone else.

The thing is, most users only have 10 mb to work with, which isn't really much. When the switch happens will this increase?

Well then this certainly throws a monkey wrench in being a template creator. As someone who makes a lot of templates the 10mb that the image uploaded offers as standard is no where near enough space to upload all of the images I would need to upload in order to change everyone's template images to https. Even as the smallest size possible it's just not feasible, at least to offer it as an alternative for template makers. Probably good for the person that just uploads the occasional actual picture but not for templates. I mean I do understand the reasoning behind doing it, a secure website is better than a possibly compromised one. Guess I'll have to go through manually and add the https to all my imageshack urls, seems it'll work since their site itself is https they just don't give the direct links in https

That's perfectly fine - we only brought attention to our on-site uploader as one possible and convenient solution, it's not the only one! That would indeed be quite daft.

Welp finished uploading and now I'm starting to think we need some Folders or way to divide thing, I'd love to be able to split the Images I just uploaded in some kinda of categories, even if I don't have a lot ATM, it just feel funny like this~ P:

Emberlynn, tell people to host the image themselves, and delete your uploads after a few days. If they missed it that's kinda on them ^^;; Anyhow. I'm dumb as a box of rocks and need clarification-- Will plain ol' links (things that use url over the img bbc) be all right?
