Delta mini sprite marker

Not arguing the rejection--I completely understand--but I'd like some insight into how/why. It's my understanding (probably incorrectly) that the totem symbol (which is what I was trying to "mirror" in a sense, with this suggestion) was entirely applied by code (isn't it just the same star/sun symbol on the tournament sigh up icon?) so wouldn't the delta symbol/marker be able to be applied the same way?
