I got a notification saying I can upgrade my dark badge, (I am upgrading my ghost badge before the dark one was ready) but I am unable to upgrade even though I have enough gems.
Is this a bug or a new feature I don’t know about?

It doesn't appear as if you have a Relic Crown, which is required to upgrade a Nintendium badge to Wishalloy.
The upgrade notification only indicates if you have enough gems to upgrade, not that you have both the necessary gems and relic item(s).
