I am curious and have one core concern- does this V-wave update mean that "bad types" (such as ice and bug) will suffer when breeding? What about monotypes? Knowing how unbalanced the base game is when it comes to types does make me a bit... leer-y? For tournaments, it's fine, those don't break chains. But I'm already starting to hesitate to continue playing with the larger gap between bonuses making it so hunting the legendaries I started hunting last year no longer feel viable or worth it to hunt (and I only hunted for shinies). Why would someone who's hunting want to switch pairs just to fit the V-wave? I do hope it'll end up better, but I am very concerned about ice types in particular. They have one resistance (ice) and five weaknesses. They'll get screwed over big time. I am happy for some of the changes! Twins are a very fun concept. If I may say, though, Niet- you may want to try playing on a fresh account from square one with no help from anyone that knows who you are to see if the changes you've been implimenting will alienate new players or not, no hypermode or giving yourself anything. It'd help you get even more of a feel for what the game is hurting on from an inside point of view. This is not meant to be accusatory in any way, apologies if it comes off as such. I say this because I am also a game developer. I hope you understand!

I'll be honest, at first glance I was unsure about the V-Wave and Nature bonuses, but after reading in a few pages my initial concerns have been nudged aside and I think I could get used to them with time.

Generally speaking, I think most of the changes proposed here are good. The only two things I really object to are those relating to the V-Wave bonus and the red gear. - Regarding the proposed V-wave bonus, irrespective of if in real terms breeding rates increase, I think in principle you shouldn't be punishing players for breeding particular pokemon types when the V-wave type is completely outside of their control. Really, i'm not too much of a fan of the V-wave giving a bonus to breeding to begin with, in my mind the extent to which it currently interacts with the game is perfectly fine and it doesn't need to extend further. - Regarding the red gear changes, while I can appreciate the want to make gems more useful for players otherwise lacking in uses, I do wonder if this is moreso tackling a potential problem rather than a real one. Anecdotally, I don't see many people on this site with Wishalloy badges, and those that do tend to be rather active users or those with many years old accounts. In any case, I have less of an objection to this one since I never have used the red gear and likely never will. In any case, keep up the good work.

I really like the idea of no more random RNG but I’m against having the V~wave affect my breeding pair. As another user said above types like ice would have a bigger disadvantage than others, while types like steel and dragon would have a big buff. I’m also not fond of nature being an influence to pairs, as someone who doesn’t have a nature preference and already has a complete pair collection, i’m going to have to remake probably every single pair so I can get the most optimized pairs. All in all, there is some good changes and ones I’m not a fan of! I’m sorry if this came off as aggressive or anything like that, that wasn’t my intention at all ^^

Information updates: Information is good, right? - The compatibility calculation will be broken down and presented in a tooltip for interested users to review so they might try to optimise their pairs.

Honestly I don't mind the changes. I do have a question on how the varient changes would effect pairs such as Koroku....ive found it pretty much impossible to breed them.

After sleeping on it, here are my thoughts. Let's get the negatives out of the way first: I am disappointed. As a community, I thought we were making such good progress. I provide clearer and more detailed posts, and in return I receive good, constructive and useful feedback to help improve things further. I wasn't the only one to notice this. But yesterday was a dumpster fire. An absolute trainwreck. I spent six hours meticulously untangling my ancient code so that I could provide as full and complete and detailed information as I possibly could, and yet during the entire initial argument it didn't occur to anyone to open a calculator, punch in 0.8 * 1.38 * 1.2 * 0.84 and see that the result (1.113) is still higher than 1, therefore even with the worst possible V~Wave it was still a significant buff overall. (It wasn't until much later in the discussion that anyone even considered the angle of some types being more drastically affected than others. That is a very valid point. Far more valid than "negative number bad".) ((Additional side-note: changing it to "just buff good types and leave bad matchups alone" is NOT a solution, since it is still a "penalty for not matching the type," just with different paint.)) Anyway, I'm going to make this simple: I'm removing the V~Wave influence from the plans. This does, however, mean that the max chance of Twin Eggs now falls to 33% due to the loss of the "matching type" 1.2x bonus.
I see some demands (not requests, demands) for "why Natures?" to which I can very easily say "why not Natures?" but that's not an answer. Someone mentioned not understanding why "a food preference" should affect compatibility, but... that's not what a Nature is. Nature causes flavour preferences, not the other way around. As for the why, you can insert your own reasoning but I kinda like the concept that "shared interests" leads to better compatibility. Gameplay-wise, it adds more diversity in options available to the player, which is rarely a bad thing. Does it "penalise" you for preferring mixed pairs for personal "flavour" reasons? Sure, if you want to look at it that way, but I would argue that doing things for "flavour" reasons is always gonna be suboptimal in some way, and that's okay. I will also note that if I had made Nature a part of the compatibility calculations from the start, we wouldn't even be having this discussion, it would just be a "fact of life" on PFQ.
Regarding the Red Gigaremo, I feel that a lot of reactions are completely out of proportion, so let me just try to make this clearer: at base value, you pay one Gem to get 10 minutes of double breeding rate. I would be very surprised if in those 10 minutes you got fewer than let's say 5 eggs. (Maybe for some specific Exclusive/Variant eggs it might be harder, but remember that those are getting buffed 2.5x anyway). Even just those 5 eggs will give you 5 Gems (more on Ravyne bonus days) which more than pays for itself. The point of being able to choose what type of Gem to use was meant to allow some optimisation with regard to how Happiness drained when using the Gigaremo. But opinions have been made very clear, so be it. I will not be changing the Red Gigaremo. This also means the auto-feeder is off the table, since that was part of the same package.
Honestly, I am so incredibly frustrated by what happened yesterday. I am practically one step away from just caving in entirely and discarding the entire Daycare update. All of it. No buffs, no nerfs, no nothing, and you can all keep your awkward, annoying, broken system that forces you to grind for no other reason than to grind. But no. That's not good for the game. I will be proceeding with the remaining changes, regardless of how difficult it will be to de-spaghettify my ancient code to make it work.

Sorry for the reactions, Niet. I had to give up reading the responses because it felt like people were picking at you. You explained yourself well as far as I was able to read and it seemed like people were ignoring your points. I am extremely hyped for the daycare overhaul. I have been dreaming of easily breeding genderless Pokemon since you first teased it. I would be heartbroken if you were discouraged enough to scrap everything.

Im so sorry Niet, i read the first 5 pages of replies and got so frustrated that i stopped, wrote my own reply and went to bed. I am still under the strong believe, that what you do is amazing. Everyone seems to forget that this is a free game after all. I hope you can find more support and CONSTRUCTIVE Criticism. As a writer i know how devasting "this bad not gonna say anymore im out lol" can be. I will state it here again: even with negative vwave it would still be over 100% so only affecting twin chances. (See my post on pg 14) Im angry that its gone downhill in the comments here and i really hope people are ashamed.
