sorry if what im suggesting is a bit mind baffling for the mods or something but um i'm a bit confused after seeing someone post their melan saying it was their first shiny in hunt

Suggestion Title: fix the melan rates
Suggestion Summary:make it so people dont hatch melans before a shiny or an albino in a hunt, make it so shinies and albinos arent horribly rare, yeah i think you know what i mean
Positive points:melans arent as rare (i dont know but with what im seeing i fear theyll loose their value)
people dont spend 10 pounds a month just to not hatch a single shiny
people dont hatch melans before albinos and shinies
a melan isnt someones first albino/shiny in a hunt
to stop shinies becoming so rare to the point they sell for more and new people cant afford to buy them because the price is so high??(im no economist, but i fear slowly and slowly everythings becoming expensive)
Negative points: the whole reason niet changed the rates, to stop shinies/albinos being worth like peanuts
im not rlly sure of any atm
Reason For Consideration: ever since the whole rate change, its felt like melans have become more common than shini3z and albinos. its felt like theyve switched places ngl. tbh i kinda just decided to make this suggestion after seeing someone post in the melan hatching thread that they [bold]hatched a melan which was their first shiny[/bold](not trying to offend or target the post), and to be honest i dont think a melan is meant to be anywhere close to your first shiny. "oh it's just luck" but thats the problem. for some reason more users have more luck in hatching melans than usual(before this update, i had never seen someone hatch 5 melans in a day...). literally i see more posts in the melan hunting thread than i do in the shiny/albino hunting thread "oh no they just dont post their specials-" the shiny/albino hunting complaint thread is my evidence to prove how much the rates are just, a bit, idk just doesnt feel right. like it doesnt feel right to have melans rarer than shinies.
and wasnt this what the update was meant to do...yeah? make melans not too common?

i don't think this is necessary - people have been getting first-shiny-in-the-hunt melans since even before any odds were changed, it really is just luck.
also, i don't think the melan hatching thread is a reliable source of melan odds - first of all, it only shows you how many people hatch their melans, not how many people are hunting and chaining with nothing to show for it yet. second of all, there's probably people out there who don't post every melan they get in the thread.

Honestly we just had changes to the rate not too long ago....
All of them are meant to be rare.
Its all rng... which is part of the fun of hunting! People have been getting the 'first shiny of hunt' melans for forever. Some people don't care for shinies and albinos because they still are quite common.
Those threads do not showcase the entire site...
So no support from me.
I get the feeling of seeing someone's first shiny of the chain is a melan, or seeing 2, 3, 4 edits or posts in a 24 hour span. But that's the way it works. The rates are bonkers. I have max boosts most days of my hunts. Arceus, Uber and Shiny charms, HM, Z-Crystal, max Albino radar, and rarely see shinies or albinos (as it's *supposed* to be now) and melans? Forgetaboutit. I can almost guarantee, my experience is more universal than the 10 or so people who actively post in the thread you're referring to.

You're right, melans aren't meant to be the first in the chain but good and bad luck does exist! My earliest shiny is 1/6 in the chain while others have gone 100s of eggs without a single special. This is just RNG at play.
Also, don't use the "bragging" subs as an accurate assumption of the S/A rates – because they're not. Here is the raw data from the site that tracks the S/A/M pokemon hatched from March until now. This directly proves that melans are not more common than S/A.
Personally, I am a melan hunter. I end up with more S/A pokemon than I want. If I posted on the S/A hatching thread every time I had a special I'd either flood the thread with too many posts or have 20+ pokemon in one post. Imagine what the thread would look like if all melan hunters or people with hunt orders did this – it would be incredibly busy.

Gotta say we don't need any more changes then what we already got and those threads have nothing to do with the rates of how melans are hatched, i would just like to point out that the few melans i have gotten i wasn't even trying to hunt for all of which have had been very low numbers it's the RNG that comes to into play when it comes to something like this as it was already stated first shiny in the hunt melans is something that has happened before and still happens now.
