well folks its about time i made a proper journal for myself n stuff. here is where ill keep track of on-site progresses, log things i have lent out, among other things. maybe some day-to-day musings.

so i have some thoughts.

i want to start this off by sayin that i am white and i live in the united states. my opinions are influenced by my Black peers, friends, and presences i see on my social medias. i am in full support of the movement, and am a full believer in police AND prison abolishment. i believe that when you say "all lives matter" as a reaction to seeing folks say "Black lives matter", all you're doin is showin me and multitudes of others that you do not truly understand the weight of what "BLM" means. it tells me that you do not believe in systemic racism and how it is engrained in every part of our society, and are staying willfully ignorant to it. it tells me that you value your feelings higher than Black lives. if you feel uncomfortable, that's a good thing. none of this is supposed to be easy. us white folk need to sit down and listen, and learn how to be proper allies. our privilege grants us protection, and with that protection we should be defending Black people, and lifting their voices. yes, all cops are bad. why? they actively participate in a system that was built on destroying Black lives. the united states was built on racism, and those roots run deep. do your research. think critically of the media you consume and the officials you say keep you safe. don't be selfish. stay safe if you're out protesting. watch out for each other. support each other. be a healthy ally for Black people everywhere. also, this isn't just a united states problem. institutional racism and state-sanctioned violence is enacted worldwide. open your eyes.
