Ancalagon the Black led Morgoth's legion of winged fire-drakes when he was facing defeat against The Host of Valinor. Though Ancalagon's size was never mentioned specifically, he must have been colossal as he was said to be responsible for the destruction of "the towers of Thangorodrim", which are elsewhere identified with the three smoking peaks of the mountain.
