I believe that's more of the post template's thing. However, I know that some template makers may be a little picky with people editing their templates, even if it's just the style. It's best to ask Shay about it, as I know minimal coding and I'm not sure if there's any consequences along with removing that bit. ^^ If you're still a little confused, ask around in various relevant guides in the forum and maybe someone will know more than me here.
