Suspicious Links / Internet Safety PSA

Just curious; did the links do anything in particular? Did they lead somewhere unsafe? PFQ is like, the worst place to SPAM bots lol. OUr community isn't that big, compared to other websites, and our MODs are effective and fast(thanks MODs!). Horrible website to have bots.

That is true, but some awful people are desperate, and there are a lot of kids on this site. Kids tend to be uninformed about the dangers online. Also Blue-Dragon08, please don't. They're just some moraless schmucks that want your money, there are tons of people like that everywhere on the internet. They're not worth the attention, and there's too much of a risk of them doing something to/with your computer or information in the process. Unless you are qualified to, I suggest you don't go after them.

Are you a security professional? Do you have an airgapped VM set up to ensure that if anything does go wrong that it can't affect your entire local area network? (There are some things that will NOT be constrained to just your PC if they get in there). Is it worth putting your entire network at potential risk to investigate without the proper safety precautions? If it ain't your job to investigate, don't. Report and move on. Leave it to those whose job it is and keep yourself safe. Sometimes that really is the best thing you can do. ... On the flipside, if you ARE knowledgeable and know the precautions to take and are doing so then disregard everything I just said, have fun! Lol.
