Like I mentioned in my about, I got into pokemon in the late 2000s, and while my introduction was through catching runs of the anime, my big introduction to pokemon was through the card game! Fun fact: I even learned how to play the card game by the official rules! My first ever card was an eevee card, which is somehow still holding up. I kept all of my cards in a fanny pack... I've since upgraded.

I keep all of my pokemon pokemon cards in a singular binder, a thick one I initially used for a heavy college chemistry course. The rest of my cards, including energies, trainers, code cards, etc are in seperate sorting containers. The binder has changed many times over the years, some breaking from wear, others too small to hold all of my cards. My current one is a bit of a tight fit, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a larger binder.

My old method, that I've used for the past decade, was to dump every single pokemon pokemon card into a pile and resort every single one. This effectively would reset my binder and allow me to adjust my cards easier to make room for the new ones. This is only seperated because "How I Sort" got too long.

My way of sorting was first by type, usually in the original Gilbert Baker pride flag color order with some minor adjustments. Now it gets confusing from here, so I'm going to use an example with the first type in the binder, fairy types. Once I get my fairy types seperated, I sort them by HP. Then, I'll take the lowest HP set and sort them alphabetically by name. If I have multiple card designs for the same pokemon, I then sort them by release date. The older card goes first. If they have the same release year, I set them by the card number in their series. The lower number goes first. Now, wash, rinse, and repeat for every number of HP for fairy types, and then do ALL of that for every other type!

Now, recently, my desorting is not very sustainable. What used to take me a few hours in one night now takes me closer to several hours over 2-3 days. Now I tend to sort the new cards, and move everything as needed, with new plastic sheets on hand. I do it every 2-3 months, and it saves me time.
