Sword and Shield made me upsetti spaghetti

I mostly came back here because I want to get to know the galar pokemon without supporting sword and shield. The design in galar, the "aesthetic", looked really cool! But my main reason for still playing the new games was to do so with MY pokemon, my first starter, my meganium from soul silver (his name's Leo). With game freak removing a majority of the national dex, I can't do that anymore, and my reason for buying these games with high price tags and low playtime is gone. And yes, the playtime has gone down signifigantly on these games, and that's due to both the difficulty going down and the quality of the story. I love pokemon, but I'm a college student now, and I have to think about money constantly. $60 for ~30 hours of playtime just isn't worth it when other games like hollow knight or stardew valley have fairly low price tags and extremely intricate plots, characters, and environments that pokemon (main series, at least) just can't compare to anymore.
