did you know that no one knows who invented the fire hydrant because the patent record was, ironically, destroyed in a fire at the U.S. Patent Office in 1836. The fire also destroyed many other patent records.
The oldest glowing lightbulb was first switched on in 1901 and lives in fire stations in Livermore, CA. It is known as the Centennial Light.
