The World Boundary
Persephone slowly raised a hand towards the slight distortion. Slowly, slower... Until she finally made contact. She jumped a little as an ice cold jolt ran through her arm. It didn't hurt, no, it was just... Odd...
She looked at her palm, unmarked, before looking back up and taking a deep breath. "I didn't come this far just to turn back now." She reminded herself, before straightening up and going forward. The cold washed over her, the invisible wall trying to push her back out. But she remained firm. She wanted- No, she needed to make it through this. Her life's work... it was just within her grasp! She wouldn't leave it alone. She couldn't leave it alone.
She grit her teeth as she pushed ahead. The pressure closed in all around her but she didn't stop. Step by step, she forced her way through, until a crack rang in her ears. As intense as it had been, the pressure snapped away. The sudden lack of resistance had her stumbling over herself. Though she tried to balance, it was almost inevitable that she would end up on her knees.
Shakily breathing and staring at the grass below, it dawned on her to look behind. And so she did. With a grin, she knew she had done it. She broke through.
