Single post in Proposal to Rename Albino and Melanistic Pokemon

I agree with a lot of the comments here, especially the great point about abbreviations by QuirkyRabbit above! To be completely honest, I feel like the terms Leucistic (white or lighter colors) and Melanistic (black or darker colors) are already sufficient. Albino is alright too, but I would prefer Leucistic. However, I understand the point about making them match "Shiny" better. Also, I don't mean to shoot down anyone's ideas, but in my personal opinion terms that only relate to the light or dark colors through vague association would not be the best options (does not help with clarity or preciseness), and I am not sure about any of the rainbow-associated terms either (since I believe both Albinos and Melans tend to have fewer colors on average). For the official terms I would also prefer words that are clearly adjectives, like Shiny. Furthermore, I feel like names that imply anything other than appearance would be rather weird, especially since shinies behave like regular Pokémon too. I also agree that it would be best to steer away from any good/evil and fortunate/unfortunate themes, especially as far as it could be misunderstood as implying something about real people... But for some actual suggestions: ALBINOS: Pearly/Pearl (or Pearlescent), "Pearls" (similar to the term Shiny, and "pearl" is also a real-life color dilution gene found in horses, not to mention that pearls are often light-colored) MELANS: Gleamy/Gleaming, "Gleams" (matches Shiny in format, also the word is often associated with shiny black things and doesn't automatically imply light color, and as a bonus it sort of sounds similar to "gloom/gloomy") Examples: Shiny Pikachu, Pearly Pikachu, Gleamy (or Gleaming) Pikachu. S/P/G hunting acronym. Selling shinies, pearls and gleams.
