Animal Crossing New Horizons Log
I managed to avoid all spoilers and honestly, it's so good going into a game knowing absolutely nothing.

Week 1

Day 1

I got a neat looking island with pears on my third try. There was another map I really liked but I have always been very picky about my native fruit, so it didn't work out unfortunately. I do however love the character customisation options available right from the start, no more trying to give the right answers in order to not get a weird face. And the slightly longer hair is lovely. Everything is so new and fresh! I didn't expect the nooks to move to the island with me, considering they have a business to run, but I suppose they got bored of it or it wasn't profitable enough anymore. Who knows. My first two villagers are Cherry the dog and Lyman the koala. I don't particularly care about any of them but it could've been worse I guess. What do I do with all the bugs and fish? There's not enough space in my tent so now they're sitting right next to the plaza, waiting for Blathers to arrive.

Day 2

I had to work yesterday and got the game relatively late in the evening, playing until late at night and fell asleep before putting down the museum thing! Now I have to wait a whole other day until I can get a shovel, dang it! Oh well, time to catch more fish and bugs and gather more materials. Gathering nook miles is getting really repetitive but so easy, spent most of them on tickets to other deserted islands. The first ones were rather boring, but then I came across a bamboo island! So pretty. And the bamboo trees sell for 1.500 bells, neat. I'll be able to pay off my house loan in no time. Also found an apple island, finally a new fruit to add to my main island. There I met Fauna which I invited over to stay with me. She's cute, I guess. A few more islands explored, another bamboo island even. If only I didn't forget all my fruits at home! I really need to pay more attention to preparing. There were of course some coconut palms so I still managed to get a decent profit. I met Erik and invited him as well. I guess I'll have a lot of deer living with me. I don't mind it.

Day 3

Blathers is here, finally. Time to dump off all my catches from the past days. Or so I thought, as it so happens he only takes 15 today... At least my house is proper now, and the storage space is so handy. And full already... Am I doing something wrong, am I gathering too many things? I try to keep a few stacks of wood and ore and even weeds, just in case. Add all the fish and bugs to it and... hardly any space left for other things. The nooklings are going to open a proper store here on this very island, and the materials required are really easy to get. Can't wait for tomorrow! I tried to organise my trees a bit more but... it's not going so well. I just completely forgot what was planted where, what is important, what is not... Oh well. Gulliver, good to see you old friend! I am really glad his ship mates have not completely abandoned him.

Day 4

So many annoucements today! And it's only 5.30 in the morning. The museum is being built, meaning another day of waiting! Oh yay! Nooks Cranny is finally open! At 8.00 am that is... There will be three new residents! I have no clue who the third one might be. Also, my house got bigger again, time to fill all my storage space with... things. Took me a little longer this time, good. Find a place for a bridge, easy. Find places for all three new houses, not so easy. Before, I would always complain if the villagers move in just wherever, but now, having to choose myself... I find it really hard to decide. Especially since I don't know who will be living where. Harvey came to visit, have to fly over to his island later. Sahara sold me a new wallpaper and a medium sized rug. Not bad, but I liked it more when she actually came to my house with me. Also, better not spend too much money here if I want to pay off my debt today. Went to Harv's Island for the first and last time. I'm not a person who takes a lot of pictures, neither in games nor in real life. Nice to know there are other people out there though on islands not too far away. I found an island with a big lake surrounded by pink and blue windflowers. It was very pretty and a bunch of those flowers are coming home with me now.

Day 5

The museum is massive! And pretty. I love how they displayed the creatures, and the butterfly room is my favourite. (I am a sucker for bugs and butterflies especially, I have so many butterfly and moth decorations in my appartement, you have no idea) Erik moved in now, he's so cute. I hate grammar and spelling mistakes but he does it in a very charming way. I am glad I met him. This will be where progress on my house becomes slower. I managed to pay off the 98k bells within yesterday, but 348k bells? No way I can earn that much today, even with fossils. Unless I find a giant treasure chest, haha. Also, first rainy day, Wilbur is so cute with his little umbrella. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of him, despite traveling a lot. Broke my fishing streak of 92, only because I had to look and then got too excited. Need to take a break... Not much else happened today, didn't go exploring so much and rather tried to turn my house into something different than a storage dump. Then I marked my money trees with a custom design pattern to make sure they don't get chopped off by accident.

Day 6

Fauna is now officially a resident of Schilfru island. I am sure she'll fit right in, despite having chosen the house furthest away from Erik. I broke my fishing chain again, the noises of them biting the hook are just too quiet. So I have to hold the switch console close to my ear, but everything else is terribly loud. Plus, I cannot see anything. In short, it is so very tedious for me. Never had a problem with fishing in the old games. Doing something else for a while. Made a small recreation area around one of my ponds, featuring some red flowers and all of my apple trees, to keep it a bit more organised. No idea how, but I managed to pay off my house loan! Next up, 548.000 bells, oof. But, more storage space, which is desperately needed. I have so many stacks of bamboo and only two recipes which require it. A wallpaper and a bagpack, nothing that I really need more than one of. Hoping for more recipes soon.

Day 7

Patty moved in, she's a neat looking cow but unfortunately I cannot for the life of me stand the way she speaks. Hope to see her leave soon. Next up, Faunas birthday party! I like how Tom Nook now announces birthdays, it's a lot easier to keep track. Lyman was at the party too, dressed hilariously. I like him more every day, he's usually up and about when I am , too. I hardly see Cherry at all. The Resident Services are going to expand and relocate and therefore will be closed tomorrow, time to stock up on Nook Miles Tickets. Ugh, I can only do so much miles grinding in one day... Found a small beach at the back of my island, it just never occured to me to check. I claimed it as my own private beach now. My first self bred hybrid flower started to grow today. It's a pink mum. I don't like pink. But hey, it's something. Sure glad I watered all my flowers this morning only for the rain to start shortly after, haha. I am thinking about relocating my blue windflowers. They seem to attract peacock butterflies (seriously, every time I catch one and turn around, a new one spawns) and with them being planted along the river, the butterflies naturally always fly away to the opposite site of where I am. My very first money tree is bearing fruit! I got 30k bells from it which is not bad considering I hardly had any money on my first day. Put away a stack of 10 Nook Miles Tickets, hope that'll last me through tomorrow.
