Single post in Medieval Travels - An Interactive Story

You approach the young man and ask him if he has a gift for the king. He tells you he does but doesn't say what it is, even after you ask him. When another shady-looking young man approaches the two of you, you see that this man gives the first a small drinking cup. You're wondering what's going on as you watch the first man pull a flask out from under his robe and pour it into the cup. When he realizes you're watching him, he hands the cup to the second man and pushes you away, telling you to mind your own business. You walk away and go stand with the other people. You turn your gaze as the king and two guards approach the small group of people gathered together to present their gifts to him. The two young men walk over and join the group. The king happily accepts gift after gift, turning to the two young men, who present him with the cup you saw them pour, calling it their village's best rum. He thanks them and drinks it. As the king turns to you, you hand him your gift of a small, handmade doll that looks like a little king. He thanks you and clasps your hands in his before making a gurgle sound and fainting. The guards that walked out with him yell orders immediately and take you into custody, the young men mysteriously having vanished. The guards search you, pulling a flask from your body. It's the same flask the young men used to pour the drink in the cup. You sit in jail for several hours until a guard comes and proclaims to you that the king died by poison and that they linked it to the flask they found on your body. Even though you protest that you did not do it, the guard will not listen to any of it. You are imprisoned until the next day and EXECUTED for the crime of killing the king.
