In memory of my common pleco, Lucky. I remember looking for the smallest pleco fish in Petco one day, and I found one that was incredibly tiny. She was barely over an inch long. I didn't know her gender; all I knew was that she had a lucky horseshoe-shaped stripe on top of her head - the other reason I called her Lucky! She lived as many years as she grew in inches, and lived over ten years. I only found out her gender recently; female pleco fish have rounded noses and rounder bellies. She also had the sass to super-soak me with water when I would 'clean her room' for her, because God forbid she have to clean algae herself, which she refused to do since that required work and, much like a pre-teen girl, had an attitude. She would make kissy faces for my mom, and would flip her tail and swim away from me, until she got older and realized that I wasn't such a bad human. RIP Lucky. You, your sassy tail flipping attitude, and your sweet kissy face will be missed! - 09/28/2022
