Pronounce: nee-nee After losing his family to a Steelix that trampled his home in Kalos, he went out on a journey to become stronger and get revenge. After some time, he stumbled across a village and studied ninja arts under the village leader, Ippei. He changed his name to Nini, never telling anyone his birth name, in an effort to leave his past behind. Several years passed and he learned that revenge was never the answer, so he decided to focus on getting stronger for the good of others instead. He was never able to evolve due to his subconscious telling him he didn't deserve it after what happened to his family. A few months after coming to this realization, in a sick twist of fate, the same Steelix that trampled his home happened to show up nearby, heading straight towards Ninja Village with no signs of stopping. Nini decided to take it upon himself to protect the village, to make up for not being able to do so for his family years ago. A long battle and several injuries later, he succeeded in taking it down, and while he finally got closure in doing so, he still hasn't evolved because, in his words, he's "strong enough" as he is. No one knows if he's truly not evolving by choice, or if he simply can't (due to injuries or otherwise), and is putting on a brave face.
