Making Suggestions
Things to Keep in Mind.
Attitude: Treat all players with respect, both the player who posted the suggestion, and the players responding to it. Any player has the right to make any suggestion, or support/not support as they choose, regardless of who they might be or their relative level of experience. Suggestions have been and will be rejected for poor attitude.
Concept: Think your suggestion through and provide details in your first post. Do not wait until you are asked to provide further information. Suggestions that lack sufficient information will be rejected.
Expectations: Most suggestions are rejected. The popularity of any given suggestion does not guarantee implementation. The choice is ultimately up to Niet as the site developer.
Scope: Features are implemented very selectively in order to keep the site focused and balanced. PokéFarm does not have a traditional Pokémon game's structure, and cannot/will not include every feature of every Pokémon game.
Non-Actionable Suggestions
- New Exclusive or Variant Pokémon ("Fakemon"), or any other player-suggested artistic content, including but not limited to examples of Trainer Outfits and Story Events. For legal reasons, we cannot use player-generated content.
- Community polling regarding Pokémon sprites. Sprites will be adjusted and/or recoloured as needed in order to keep up with developments in the Pokémon franchise and in accordance with the growing experience of the Art Team. Implementing community polls regarding these visual updates would adversely affect the ability of the Art Team to output content in a timely manner, without being an effective means of addressing the desires of the community as a whole.
- Toggling between sprite versions. Players are free to change which version of a sprite they personally see using their skin's CSS function. PokéFarm will not internally maintain past versions of updated sprites.
- The ability to delete your own forum posts or non-SYSTEM PMs, or to edit PMs in general. Forum posts and PMs need to persist for the safety of our players and to ensure that the Terms of Service are not being violated. Any individual forum post that is deleted is first reviewed by a Moderator.
- Allowing players other than the Original Poster to edit a forum post. This would invite violations of the Terms of Service, particularly if players had a falling out or otherwise disagreed.
- A PokéFarm mobile app. This would require a significant investment of time and capital to develop, particularly as development would need to be outsourced.
- Translating PokéFarm into other languages. This would require both a significant and ongoing investment of time and would drastically increase the difficulty of ensuring the Terms of Service are not being violated.
- A forum search function. Any internal search function would result in additional site lag. Google Search can be used to fulfill this function by entering "site:pokefarm.com" before your search term(s).
- Instant Egg Hatching, through using either currency or consumable items.
- Changing an existing Pokémon's gender or nature, through using either currency or consumable items (such as Nature Mints).
- Gigantamax Formes. While we like them, the size limitations on our sprites and the amount of detail needed for the formes make it impossible to implement these and still meet our internal standards for the quality of our sprites.
- Adding additional filters to the Shelter, beyond the existing Flutes, the Shiny chain bonus, and what is possible to accomplish using skin CSS and/or userscripts.
- Adding longer or shorter Scour intervals. Due to previous experience with issues this caused on PokéFarm 1 (PF1), we will not be reverting to this Scour model.

Responding to Suggestions
Responding with "I support!" or similar, without additional content, is treated as SPAM and your post will be deleted. If you support a suggestion but do not want to make a substantial post in response, use the Thumbs Up feature. If you do not support a suggestion, give helpful, reasonable, respectful feedback explaining why. Disrespectful or condescending responses to a suggestion thread may result in being barred from the Suggestions forum. Niet has requested that no one use "possible difficulty to code" as a downside or reason to reject a suggestion. If it's something he thinks should be added to the site, he will make the attempt. If it's something incompatibile with PokéFarm as it currently exists, he will make that determination and respond appropriately.Official site avatar.
