Why you shouldn't defund the police. The reason why police act a certain way is because of the amount of training they recieved. If the training that they recieved is causing them to act on impulse and shoot, then they havent recieved enough training. There have been instances when police have shot squirrels and dogs simply because they felt threatened, this is an example of lack of training. We should be funding the police more so that they can recieve better training and act responsibly. If we defund the police even more, they'll recieve even less training which will make the problem worse. If we defund the police fully, who will defend you when your house gets broken in? Who will be catching the people that stole your car? Who will help you when you are in danger? You might think that a possible solution to this problem is to arm everyone with guns. Civilions are then given weapons that they have had no training for. Even a little training is still better than no training!Police help keep a lot of people safe, and with the right training, they can maintain a healthy society. Also using blanket terms such as "All cops are corrupt/suck/complicit" also bothers me. When using the word "all" this refers to everyone under the label of cop. Some cops are actually doing a good job and we are discrediting/discouraging their work.We all hate corrupt cops but all cops aren't corrupt!
