(Smaragdus is the Latin name for Emerald) In the end no one could really say where the strange Snivy had come from. With his darker green scales and quiet attitude it was as if he had been there all along, though no one on the farm could remember him arriving. He would often just sit there quietly, on the edge of the forest, staring out into the darkened underbrush. Waiting, perhaps watching, for something or someone to appear. One day a young boy from a neighboring farm came to vist. He stayed for awhile and upon his departure the strange Snivy went to the farms leader and with hesitation asked if she knew just who that boy was.
