[EGG RECIEVED.]
Oh! A simple lump of wood! This will make a perfect paperweight. It HAS been quite windy over the hills. I suppose I'll put it with the eggs within my satchel-... I'm sure my Shinx won't quite mind, either.

[Phantump has hatched!]

OH DEAR HEAVENS ON HIGH. THIS IS A POKEMON.
-
I-... in the past, I have considered the ethics of keeping Ghost Type Pokemon as partners, as opposed to equals-... and I am still not quite sure where I stand upon this fact, considering myth, legend, and common theory suggests that most of these creatures were once human. Personally, were I to turn into a Pokemon upon death, I wouldn't quite mind a life in the lap of luxuary-... but what about battling? I've already quite made up my mind that I shall attempt to interact with Ghost Types as little as possible... Continuation to be recorded at a later time.

Initially, I was going to release this Pokemon upon first realizing it-... Well. COULD it have been called an egg? Or-... oh, dear heavens, did a child die within my vicinity, only to immediately possess the small stump I was using as a paperweight? Or... is widely-accepted urban legend wrong? Are Phantumps just as likely to be related to humans as your common Pidgey or Stantler? I have indeed of other Ghost Types manifesting eggs... but did a Trevenant TRULY concieve this youngling? I digress. My initial conclusion was to release the chi-... the youngling after offering it half of the sandwich I was eating upon its... rather... startling emergence out of my satchel. At the time, it seemed just as terribly frightened as I had been- but after a good solid few moments of staring at each-other in abjunct curiosity, it floated closer, and accepted the pecha-berry-preserves sandwich (which, at that point, I had promptly offered, as I didn't quite want it to get ANY closer). It devoured it with remarkable speed. And at that point, I found myself speaking to the small Pokemon- and I shall admit, this was mostly gibberish- but... for all the world... it seemed to be listening intently. It was then, cautiously, that I asked if she would like to travel with me. I don't quite think I've ever seen something so terrifying as it was adorable- the wood upon its face cracked horizontally into something I can only depict as a wide, jagged smile. I am not quite yet sure if I should give her a nickname- I do not want the Phantump to feel obligated to stay, should it change its mind in the near future. However... to be able to research a Phantump so closely, with absolute first-hand chances of behavioral study? I am far less horrified than I was initially-... dare I say, I am absolutely thrilled at the prospect of having this Phantump as a friend.

It seems as though Phantump has no inclination to leave! This is most thrilling! This is most jovial! This is most surprising! I... I think I have the perfect name for this little darling. Please, do expect further entries linked via PDA to this Pokemon's ID!
