[[[I hardly had time to write this research entry before the egg up and hatched! I do not know if this Pokemon hatched with abnormal speed, or if I have simply gone slightly timeblind with all the excitement of these past few days. I shall take Thollson to a Pokemon Center to make sure he is in perfect health.]]]
I do suppose the circumstances of its obtaining are noteworthy enough to write upon before I digress unto the Pokemon's behavior and other such matters. This egg was, indeed, adopted from a laboratory... it sat quite close to the egg of what I could only guess to be a Lunatone within its incubator. I had, at first, been compelled to take the latter egg- I am /quite/ fascinated by Psychic Types-... but something compelled me to at least inspect the unhatched Burmy before making my decision. As soon as I picked the small thing up, a man- who had been moving far too swiftly for my eyes to make out any distinct features- rushed unto my side, lanced forwards for the Lunatone egg, and disappeared just as quickly as he had arrived. I stood there, brow nearly raised to the ceiling, and simply stared at the door-... and it was then that the egg gave a jitter. Almost... as if it was laughing. Which, of course, is impossible...! Eggs cannot percieve the world around them from WITHIN their shells... can they? I am almost tempted to find some way to ask this charming little lad once he hatches.
[Burmy has hatched!]
And at this point, I do suppose it would be best to describe the Burmy himself, as... he... is now sitting right in front of me. He does have a slightly goofy, curiously-natured air about him, but the most prevalent point of his personality would be just how carefully he interacts with the other newly-hatched Pokemon. He does not move quickly towards them, and nor has he made any contact with them other than a few sight nudges- and even shared what could be described as a hug with Sir Macadamia! (...Of course, Macadamia was the one doing the hugging, as Burmy does not quite have arms. He's just got tiny little legs. Barely twigs, poor bloke.) If only Satchel would act in the same way... she's all but /tackled/ every other Pokemon sharing my party-space with her, including herself, upon seeing a mirror for the first time when we stopped at an inn for a touch of rest. Dear heavens. Perhaps his gentle demeanor will rub off at least a TOUCH on her. Other than all this, the small one seems QUITE interested in my daily research recordings-... he is looking over my shoulder at my PDA even as I write this. I am afraid I cannot explain to him quite yet what my work consists of- to do so would be to endanger accurate results of the psychological research I have scheduled and planned upon his partnership with myself- but despite this, he seems to have quite a healthy love of listening to anything that I chance to tell him. Perhaps I've just found my future lab-partner, mmmh? I've decided to name him Thollson. Report upon Thollson's health after his strangely swift hatching will be delivered shortly in the next entry.
