small suggestion for people with vision problems? sometimes i have to ask people what colors the shiny/melan miniors are because they're dark. other different colored species have their forms labeled by color (i.e. Squawkabilly with "Yellow/Blue/Green/Red Plumage"), so i wanted to suggest that maybe it be added to minior as well? just on the exposed form, maybe? maybe instead of just saying "Exposed" it could say "Exposed Red/Orange/etc Core." I realize it may not align with the real pokedex in Pokemon but i think it would be a nice small quality of life thing for users with bad vision! (i have perfect color vision but i'm extremely nearsighted, so unless my phone/laptop is close to my face, i can't always decipher the colors) feedback is always welcome, but i don't really see any drawbacks to this other than. well. a little work on niet's part editing all the code where "Exposed" appears. if you guys can think of anything, let me know! edit: it was pointed out to me by a friend (thank you justicebeetle) that mons like Squawkabilly have different dexes for each form. this is not what i want to happen because, well, that's stressful to complete and just adds more strain to getting arceus and things like that. it may not be possible in the code to just slap it in without making dex entries for each one, but if it is possible, then i'd like to keep it one dex and just have the cores labeled just in case. the general dex could say [Exposed Core] but when you click on the specific pokemon it could say [Exposed _ Core]

It ought to be possible, since it's already the case for Flabebe. Full support ^^

Not actively buying. Or actively doing anything in general.

Just curious: with vision problems, do you have trouble distinguishing any gems from one onother too, if they are not labeled?
occasionally? but it tends to not bother me nearly as much because i know the general color and order that they go in for the most part. i.e. in tables, grass comes before bug, fire before fighting, psychic before fairy, etc :3 the colors are different enough that when in a decent range of my visibility, i can see exactly which gem it is, but further away from my face, the colors blur all together :3c i have severe astigmatisms in both eyes. the issue with minior is that the colors you get are completely random, and sometimes without another to compare it to, i'm like. huh? which color is this? and i'm never 100% sure until i find something to compare it to or ask someone else

I deleted the question because I re-thought & figured it might be too personal a question to ask in this space. Thank you for answering.

Glad I stumbled over this thread! I've been enjoying the site for the past few weeks. It's definitely one of the most feature-rich egg-clickers out there, and it's clear how much love is going into the whole project. The artists are doing a great job with the new generations, and the mechanical additions inspired by mainline series gimmicks are a lot of fun. Keep up the great work! I do have some concerns regarding the monetization of the site. I understand server and labor costs can be high, so I get that you need to ensure the project is properly financed. But I wanted to share my thoughts on a trend that, in my opinion, has turned many virtual pet sites into graveyards. As a new player, I’ve noticed some dark patterns emerging from the microtransaction model. On top of the subscription, there’s money to be spent on most mechanics. The limits on adoptions are pretty noticeable and seem designed to tempt players into spending. While you do get nice features in return, I’m mainly worried about the temporary boosts and number-pushing features. These just give players a brief chance to slightly influence the gacha mechanics of the game. The calculations feel rather opaque, and it’s hard to understand how these small, temporary boosts impact the overall system. This space is home to many neurodivergent people like myself, and the game caters to teenagers and children. Microtransactions and dark patterns, coupled with the nostalgia of a beloved franchise, historically target and exploit dedicated demographics. So, I just wanted to address that there are ways to rethink monetization without simply shifting numbers in gambling mechanics.
  • Cele’s could be a great way to generate income for the server, where people know exactly what they’re getting. These aren’t recurring costs that slowly chip away at your money.
  • There needs to be a clear, understandable write-up of any possible way people can spend their money to influence their chances on hatches. Calculators exist for this, but clear communication and proper information pipelines are crucial for ethical monetization.
  • The first thing people see when they log in is the list of disabled, paid features in the announcement box. While useful, they should be designed not to tempt players by default.
  • Strongly reconsider how the box system works. It’s a lot of money one can spend on an already system-laden site.
These are just some points I had off the top of my head. I really think this place is phenomenal and inspiring, and I hope it doesn’t fall into the pitfalls of a lack of transparency, accessibility, and obtainability. This is just my personal view on microtransactions in online spaces, as virtual pet sites and Pokémon are homes to many who were driven off by the current “games as a service” climate. No argument intended, just sharing my thoughts. Thank you so much!
