What are your pokemon headcannons?
Forum Index > PokéFarm > Discussion >
hello!! just tell me your fanon/headcannons about different pokemon! i will go first, glaceon is a transmasc! C:
Deino lacks eyesight due to being a cave-dwelling species. And even if you comb their bangs back, they still can't see through their eyes.
(If you look at the official plushies, they DO have eyes behind the fluff!)
Furthermore, Hydreigon is especially violent because it suddenly gained an entire sense, which would be incredibly overwhemling, imo.

Not sure how much this counts as a headcanon but I have the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga and in there they show that TMs and HMs are discs that you put into a box like machine that reads it, the emits some ebergy based on the disc and then a Pokemon can learn that move by being exposed to said ebergy.
I like to thonk that that's the way it works in game...

We have so many, and some of these aren't ours, but off the top of my head:
- There are methods to evolve certain Pokemon that have been lost to time, but are known to exist from historical records. Kind of made canon in PLA though.
- There are more elemental types than the standard eighteen, but they are simplified into eighteen for convinence, and some types have sub-types (i.e. fossil, gemstone, igneous, etc might be a subtype of rock)
- Pokemon can have different mutations, like bilateral gynandromorphism, erythrism, xanthocromosim, craniofacial duplication, etc, just like real animals. Pokemon might also have patern variations, like Arbok's chest pattern,
- Pokemon aren't inherently from the region they debuted in if they couldn't be found in the wild (i.e. Eevee aren't from Kanto because they were only a gift Pokemon until gen 8, but instead might be native to Kalos).
- Evolution and regular growth are two different things where evolution is distinctly when a Pokemon changes species, like Pokemon such as Scyther start as a larvae, but evolution into Scizor is a dramatic change caused by something external. This is also why there is no Kangashkan pre-evolution, since it's a regular growth cycle and not a change in species.
