Wishalloy without buying gems?

Hi! I'm going for wishalloy grass and am yet to buy any gems! Has anyone decided to do this (I have swapped, but only ~100 gems)

While it is entirely possible to "go it alone" like this, I would like to note that this is a multiplayer game and has been balanced as such. So it's possible, but difficult.

I have done all mine without buying gems, but did a lot of swapping of other gems and just hatching a pure type over and over again. I did a 2 month Skiddo hunt, almost 9k eggs and got the last 2 badges (Nintendium and Wishalloy) from that. I got both rock and water from doing 2 months of Omanyte, but had Nintendium in both when beginning. After I got enough rock gems, I switched with other people for water. But I am an extremely active player when hunting and ensure I do at least my 151 a day. I have the self motivation and the focus to stay on a task without getting bored of it. I see many people get to about 200 chain and switch to something else. At 2000, I'm just getting started XD ALSO I sell things for gems. Specials mainly, which some people will do because they want their currency for other things ^_^
