Strict non-ZC User Complaint+No Spending Money Tips Discussion T

Hey! Gonna pop in here with an F2P perspective I haven't seen discussed in depth yet, and it may be controversial:
Become best friends with the Market.
Seriously, get to know your prices. Find items in the Market that sell consistently/frequently, and get an idea of what they typically sell for. Of course, prices fluctuate over time, but for example, most large Gems sell for ~100-120k Credits.
Frequently check the Market, and keep an eye out if someone is selling something for far cheaper than the typical price. Continuing with the Gem example, I recently bought 40 Large normal gems from someone who sold them altogether for 75k each.
Then, resell! Personally, I resell things for a bit cheaper than Market price, 1. because I bought the items in question for very cheap, and 2. because cheaper items sell faster! Selling the 40 large Gems I originally bought at 75k each for 100k each (95k counting the 5% Doug takes) would net me ~800k Cr. in profit that I could convert to ZC!
The most important things here are knowing your prices, being patient, and developing a large Credits reserve (which can be done through methods previous users have mentioned).
Once you have a large reserve, you can make larger payments on bigger deals in the Market that usually turn for higher profits than smaller buys! Personally, I keep at least 3 million Credits in reserve, which also serves to provide cushion if I'm unsuccessful with a resell.
Other than reselling, here are some other things I do to build up reserves of Credits which I later can convert to ZC:
- Constant inventory clearouts. You may have stacks upon stacks of evolution items you don't use that can be either sold directly, or sold for higher prices on the Market. Knowing your prices helps here too!
- What other users have said: Contests, Tourneys, Fab Friday, Type Race, etc.
- Entering user-hosted raffles, can be done to earn currency by itself or items that can be sold for ZC
Best of luck to you! The F2P struggle can be difficult, but it's definitely manageable. You got this!

I'm a no-spending player who, when I've been active, has managed to maintain continuous Hypermode, shiny charms, uber charms, you name it!
I agree with what everyone else is saying. Currency conversion is my #1, followed by selling Boxboxes at #2 (current general selling price is 110zc) and selling Summons at #3. However, because currency conversion is such a common and easy thing to do (so long as you don't mind contacting other people on the site), anything you can do to generate any form of currency helps you in the long run. So the tips I have mostly focus on getting as much currency as possible in order to convert it.
My tips:
- If you're charging your albino radar to the max daily and still have interaction points to spare, buy extras! You can sell 'em on the market if you want but you're unlikely to make more of a profit than just selling them directly from your inventory. I tend to get enough points for one radar per week--an extra 125k weekly ain't bad!
- I have a VIP group for people buying certain summons for ZC and another group for people who regularly do currency conversions for ZC (they'll usually say it right in their trainer card or about me). That way when I have things ready to trade I can go directly to the source, rather than going to the trouble of making a trade thread that may or may not work.
- Speaking of trade threads, watch them like a hawk! You never know what deals people will be offering. Some could be better than usual prices, or just have straight-up free stuff. PFQ users tend to be extremely generous from what I've seen :)
- Sometimes people will offer things on the market, particularly evolution items, for less than the sale price, so you can scoop them up and sell them right from your inventory. The profit is usually quite small, but it can add up over time! Also, like Eloquence mentioned, if the lowest offer on the market for something is way lower than the second lowest offer, you could try buying it and flipping it for a higher price, but this can be risky since you can't guarantee it will sell.
- Having a trade shop if you don't already is a great way to organize stuff to sell and get more visibility on what you have to offer. Unlike trade threads, you only have to make it once, and then just keep it updated and bump it every once in a while. Even if you're hoarding items and you don't have special 'mons to sell, you can offer services like dexing, shelter hunts, or RTEs that tend to be quite popular. There's always something you can do to earn currency! (Edit: I just noticed in your original post that you already have a trade shop, oops! My advice about offering services still stands though.)

The best way that I make Credits is by getting gems. From this Tournament, I hatched enough Nidorans to craft 22 Large Poison gems.
Those Gems are in the Marketplace for 3.7mil Credits. If they sell, that's enough to purchase the Hypermode in the Market with money leftover! All I did was click and hatch my eggs! You're guaranteed to get at least one gem every time you do.
Relying on the Marketplace is always iffy. Poison gems don't typically sell this high, and Hypermode prices can flucuate a bit. As I write this, Hypermode is going for around 3.3mil Credits.
Some players prioritize upgrading their gems. I did for two of them (Grass and Poison Wishalloys) for Type Races so that my hunts for that week will always have an XP buff + extra Flawless Gems whenever you hatch specials! (ie: My next type race is Fighting; Hisuian Sneasel is part poison and part fighting and will still have an XP boost.)
Upgrading gems is expensive, especially buying the relics! I don't recommend it being anyone's first priority when buying Hypermode provides so many extra rewards, but everyone is different and has their own preferences. Some grow their collections as high as possible, and some (like me) enjoy shiny hunting, just like in the main games. That's the great thing about playing a Pokemon-related game; there are many different goals to acheive.
If you're new, I would highly suggest the following:
-Use your early game earnings to buy an EXP Share. It allows you to earn XP towards hatching your eggs with every single click you make yourself! The free 7-day Hypermode will give you 500 Gold Poke; making it a very helpful early game item to own.
-Add a list of users to your VIP list with 5k+ Pokemon in their fields. Their names will show up on your Party page making those players' profiles easy to find.
-Click them daily until you've earned enough Interaction Points for your Albino Radar
-As you're clicking, you'll be hatching eggs and getting gems!
The Albino radar provides you with a random chance at getting Albino colored Pokemon that you can either sell for Delta Points or more Credits in the Trade Forum while you're hatching eggs; earning even more money!

One of the best ways that I earn zc and stuff are by melanistic hunting and market economy (as well as summons and other miscellaneous items)
Note: I did this all by being F2P (Except the 10k purchase I made a while back that I believe that I bought a star pass with)
To start, melanistic hunting takes a lot of grinding and luck, and a bit of boosts to be able to be successful. So far on this hunt, I've gotten a total of 14 melans, totalling up to 26,600zc. It required me to click interactions and use boosts along side, which would deduct currency from the total amount. This is not recommended for players who do not have full boosts!!!
A secondary way I earn money is by the market. There's tons of things on the market that could be profitable. These things include:
1) boosts (buying dcp on elfa days and reselling on market)
2) gems (from large hunts, take advantage of ravyne)
3) boxboxes (self-collected, or you can be cheeky and buy boxboxes at 100zc and resell it on the market)
4) tourney tokens
5) pokeblocks (buy some berries, make those + pokeblocks and leave it on the market)
6) etc.
Idk what else to say here. I feel like I have more, but I hope this would help some people. ^^
Tips for New Players
Do not:
- Think about hunting or even melan hunting
- Trade away all your gold for zc or credits to buy things from the market
- Use the market for large boosts (hypermode, ubercharm)
- Use the market to buy a HM voucher for 4m~ credits
Do:
- Think about getting eggdexes and pokedexes to rank up yourself for rewards and higher boost chances.
- Get yourself boosts like scour slots and boosts, exp share (very important to hatch eggs faster), shelter passes, etc.
- Use the market for smaller boosts (albino radar, pokeradar)
- Use the market to buy larger boosts (only in an EMERGENCY)
- Use your credits to convert it into zc. Chances are, it will take less than a day to trade 4m cr for 800zc.
Tips for Mid-Game Players
Do not:
- Think about buying too much stuff for yourself
- Buy boosts and waste them (This is a critical moment, don't waste boosts here!)
- Think about planning and going (UNLESS you're going for a money grind like me)
Do:
- Think about long-term goals of getting yourself rich in currency or being able to support yourself without needing to stress over your boosts running out.
- Think about melan hunting as you rank up to champion rank.
- Think about planning before starting a melan hunt
- This will allow you to plan out how much melans you will need and how much you would need to spend before spending it and going on with the hunt. It also is better because you can actually count up how much you spent and how much you gained.
