Another beautiful day in Lickisterg! The sun shines brightly amongst the deep blue sky with no cloud in sight to block such a view. It's not too hot but not too cold, and the winds are rather mild as well. A perfect day for a game of catch.
Too bad she doesn't like catch. OR warm, sunny days. Abagail stretched her arms upwards and yawned while she got up from bed to check what it looked like outside. She released a small hiss and shielded her eyes with an arm upon spreading the magenta curtains and having sunlight stream in on to her face. She quickly pulled the curtains to her bedroom window closed with her free hand, and began grumbling to herself about things such as daytime and happiness. It was a real shame that all the commotion that today will bring will keep her from getting anymore shut-eye.
"Stupid Guildmasters and their stupid recruitment event.", she spoke to herself, through a sour tone that one wouldn't believe could come from a Gardevoir. "It's a waste of time to hire a bunch of weak children to save some old lady's handbag." She grumbled some more as she made her bed.
Meanwhile, as Abagail did as Abagail does, Guildmaster Bayaruel dashed quickly down the grand stairway to the front door. On the 7th step down however, he tripped and rolled the rest of the way to the bottom floor. He crash landed on his right shoulder and groaned quietly from the pain he felt. That would certainly leave a bruise tomorrow, but of course there was no time to tend to that right now. The pink Sableye quickly got up from the floor and trotted, albeit more carefully, to the front door.
He opened the entrance using it's bottom handle and pryed open the creaky doors that lead outside. He immediatly forgot about his injury upon seeing the beauty that was today. He breathed in a breath of fresh air, and made his way out to finalize the preperations for the Alliance Expedition Guild's recruitment event.

Edaerith was already outside, organizing existing guild members to welcome the new recruits: some were cleaning out empty rooms, some were counting food inventory, some were making the place look nice, some were putting up decorations. Edith carried her clipboard, marking things down when the task was done. She smiled at each passing member with a polite nod.
Most of the tasks for today were already accomplished, as some of the members had started preparing early into the morning. Many of the guild members were excited for new recruits. New recruits meant new friends and team members, which meant more help and more fun! The only downside was more mouths to feed…
Edaerith paced along the grounds, watching everything come together, though she seemed to be worried for some reason…
LuckyCharm sprang out of bed and quickly raced downstairs to go outside. She
grabbed her Berry Pouch and Wailmer Pail. On the way out the door, LuckyCharm
spotted Edaerith and informed her of where she was going.
At the Berry fields, LuckyCharm noticed a few of the Starf berries had been stolen.
“I wonder where they went,“ thought LuckyCharm to herself.
She collected some Passho Berries for Zero and some Spelon berries for
Edaerith. She also made sure to plant some Razz berries for Terracotta and
some Rowap Berries for Keperstof. She also picked some fresh Kee berries from
the other side of the garden. While she was picking berries for lunch, she
spotted a lone Wooloo happily chewing on some grass. LuckyCharm didn´t think
too much of the WOoloo, and finished up her garden work. Then she skipped
back to the Guild to get the Berries back in time for lunch.

Terracotta fluffed up the pillows on her bed for what seemed like the millionth time, floating backwards to get a view of her room before finally deciding this was good enough. It was already a very exciting day- today was a recruitment event, and that meant newcomers were joining the Guild! Terra could still remember the first day she joined Lickisterg's Expedition Guild. Smiling happily to herself at the fond memories, Terra floated down the hallways dreamily.
She passed by familiar members before heading outside, wanting to see personally who was joining. Perhaps, this time, she could get a new teammate! She opened the door and went out to see everything was coming together great.
"Hello, Edaerith," Terracotta happily greeted as she floated towards the Mawile. "Looks like we're ready for the new recruits!" She looked about, seeing how everything was practically done. She'd helped earlier in setting up some banners and decorations and was impressed to see so much more was done by the time she came back.
She turned back, giving a smile. "And how are you doing?" She asked sweetly.
eddie was walking down the path while looking at a map
"Jeez this thing is confusing" he said.
he ran into a sign that pointed to a town called Lickisterg.
"Lickisterg?never heard of it ."he walked into the town to see many Pokémon walking around.there were shops, restaurants and much more.
but one thing caught his eye there was many people outside a building.
he walked over and made his way through to the front and learn what was going on.
Edaerith nodded in return to LuckyCharm’s passing, “Have fun!” She shouted as the Pokémon scampered off.
Later, she turned towards Terracotta, hearing her approach, “Hello! Yes, not much is left to be done! Everyone has been oh so busy. Always such an exciting day!” She smiled as she spoke, “I am doing well, just hoping everything goes according to plan! Hopefully we will have some new Pokémon to recruit. We haven’t had an event like this in some time!” She remarked, “How are you, Terracotta?”
Terracotta nodded along as Edaerith spoke. "I'm good, a little nervous to see who comes and what they're like!" Her nubby hands fiddled nervously as she looked about in embarrassment. "And... maybe... get a teammate while I'm at it. I work well alone in all my missions, but it's nice to have someone else there with you all the time!" She smiled hopefully, but kept it light to not focus too much on herself. She's just seeing how everything is! And besides, there were plenty of other things to focus on.
"I'm sure everything's going to work out well. It's a beautiful day!" Terra finished hopefully. She looked over at the busy crowds around the Expedition Guild building and watched the newcomers look about, a special glint in her eye hoping to see someone wishing to join come alone. With so many Pokemon about, it was overwhelming to walk up to anyone and just say hi. She'd build up the courage soon enough...
"Bonjour!" Bayaruel exclaimed merrily as he made his way to Edaerith and Terracotta. "It sure is a remarkable day today. I'm sure this event will be a smash hit with anyone who might be itching for some adventure. I sure know I felt that way!" He took a place next to Edaerith, put his hands on his hips, and beamed at the working Pokémon. "How goes it, Evie? Terracotta? Anything I can help with?"
In the tall grass growing amongst the fields that surronded Lickisterg, three dark green leaves pertruded from within and they kept shuffling ever so slowly towards town. Any who were possibly nearby would hear the humming of a little Goomy/Petilil fusion who was happily bouncing her way to the guild to sign-up. Flyers in the next village over talked about the hiring event that was going on at the Expedition Society. Grace just so happened to be passing through at that time and her attention was caught by the pretty colors that were used to attract any wandering eyes that so happened to be viewing the village walls.
LuckyCharm bounded into the village and immediately saw Edaerith speaking to Terracotta. She overheard Bayaruel talking to both of them and decided to stop in for a chat.
“Hello Edareith, I just wanted to report something I saw in the fields today.
Some of our rarest Berries were missing, and as this was highly unusual, I
just wanted to check in with you. By the way, good morning Terracotta! These
new pokemon sure are excited!“
The conversation broke off as LuckyCharm was distracted after seeing a
Shuppew nearby and with a quick goodbye to Edareith, scurried over to talk. At first glance, the new Pokemon seemed timid and in need of a friend. “Guess I´ll find out!“ though LuckyCharm as she weaved through the crowd.
The moment the ghost approached the plaza, it realized it made a mistake.
It meant to visit the place briefly, guided by the same strange feeling of familiarity that got it into the road that lead to this town - Lickisterg, it remembered reading on the entrance sign.
But, very unlike coming to Lickisterg, reaching the guild quietly wasn't possible at the moment.
The area around the building bustled with color from the many banners and other such decorations hung around. Pokemon of many sizes and shapes crowded the place in a swirl of activity no much different from the flags above their heads. Some talked, some walked or ran around enthusiastically - mostly kids with their family or on their own, with the occasional older Pokemon doing the running instead.
None seemed to be scared of it, none seemed to have even noticed its presence.
Except that wasn't true; with its one good eye, it noted a few - about 3 or 4 - tall ones giving it an odd look. One had a hat with a cross on their hat. Familiar, yet also lost in meaning.
The ghost froze. Under the cloak, one clawed arm - its only arm - traveled up to fiddle with the bandages on its chest, the movement hopefully lost to them.
It tried to look away-
And its eye stumbled upon a lone colorful paper hung on a nearby wall. The pamphlet read something about a sign-up or a similar grand event - that much it could read without moving its head - scheduled for... today? Was this what it was?
Something sparked in its chest. Something that was snuffed out the moment it paid attention to the sensation.
No matter. It had no interest in joining. The dead don't join guilds, after all.
Even if...
The ghost casted the thought aside. No need to dwell on that, either.
Slowly and cautiously, it dared to peek back at the Pokemon from earlier. They seemed to have lost interest in it and walked away, mixed into the crowd. Its arm let go of the bandages and hung limply at its side.
.... What now?
It supposed it could get back into hiding. Wait for nightfall to try again, once the crowd is hopefully asleep in their dens and houses.
Or maybe it could find a quiet place near the guild. One perhaps just visited enough for the broken husk to be found. For Gelbalrd to be finally put to rest.
It's what it came here for in the first place.
With that idea, the ghost began floating a few places away from the crowd in search of such a spot.
