Your Guide to 90%+ Breeding Pairs

I'm trying to breed ponyta currently and my breeding pair is 78% (not awful) but I'm trying to raise it. Now, I'm a bit confused with who is the OT in this situation ; I have a rapidash that was released from the daycare by player A and adopted and hatched by player B. Once it evolved to rapidash, player B released it and I adopted it from the shelter. Will player B be the OT, or is it me? I'm mostly just confused on if the adopt from shelter become OT thing is for eggs or fully evolved pokemone.

You are the OT. As long as it has never been traded before, the person that owns it is considered the OT, no matter how many times it is adopted from the shelter.

think of it like adoption from a pet shelter. YOU become the pet's owner now, the person who put the pet up for adoption doesn't matter anymore. Whereas if you get a pet from a friend who can't look after it for whatever reason, you still think of the friend as the pet's original owner.

In your experience, is pairing a Staryu or a Starmie better in terms of getting the 83 max %?

i don't believe it actually makes any difference. at least none that i have come across

Hey! I got a question too. I have a 97% pair but because of a large level gap, they only produce few eggs. If I increase the weakest one, I know that the displayed 97 won't change, but will they produce more eggs of should I just ask someone for a new pokemon? Also, if they have different happiness, does it change anything?

if you close the level gap they will produce better, you won't need to get a new pair. the 97% is the best case scenario production of the pair, which more or less means the happier and higher level they are the closer to the 97% they will actually produce
