please note that i am not suggesting a design or exclusive, simply a method of breeding and thus a game mechanic, thank you:

Name: Color-based breeding exclusives Summary: Okay, you know unown breeding, well, i have an idea: what if we did that, but with colors. i think it'd be interesting. there'd be.... 12 colors max, the three primary, three secondary then 6 tertiary. as for the eggdex, they all have the same eggdexes and hatch colors at random until they are breedable. once they are breedable- it's just like Unown, unique eggdex for each color, but with the same looks and is based off parentage positive points:
  • We've only seen this with one other pokemon- Unown- could add some more uniqueness to this site
  • these pokemon probably will recieve more value once they're breedable, due to the colors now being able to be mixed
negative points:
  • Melans, shinies, and albinos exist (fix: don't make it the whole body- maybe just the tail or soemthing like that)
  • tertiary colors might recieve more value then the primary colors, due to them being harder to obtain
  • Artists have to work with this idea

I believe this counts as suggesting a sprite, as you're suggesting a new exclusive that would go along with this mechanic. Plus it seems like a massive amount of work for the art team. Even if it stops at a third generation, that's still every original + every original, every secondary + every secondary, every secondary + every original and all of those for regular, shiny, albino, and melan. And if it just stops, are the final generation unbreedable, or do they just breed that color? How would it work for them? If they just breed that color, it would oversaturate the market with, say, magenta, because now you can just breed the magenta with any Pokemon to hatch that egg. Also I think Arceus rank keepers would be upset at the amount of egg dexes they would need, because NO ONE would have a chance at Arecus rank until the exclusives were breedable, right? Because the eggs from the prize shop would only hatch in the primary colors, and without them breedable there would be no way to get the secondary or tertiary colors.

I think that, if this kind of things is implemented, it would be like maravol pattern, or flabebe line flower. To prevent overflow of tertiary color if we want them to be more rare, maybe two seconday color or one secondary and one primary are not garanted to make a tertiary and can still created primary or secondary most of the time. Same case for a pair of tertiary. And even if the OT quote the unown for their concept.Maybe all the color could still share the same egg. If it's still count as suggesting a sprite, the rules should be rewrited to include that.

Just using the colors you suggested, there are 1232 pokemon. 1232*8=9856 different recolored sprites the art staff have to make.

i was more thinking the lines go to the secondary colors, then the hues of the color that stop breeding new colors past taht. those secondary colors breed with other secondarys and primary colors to create the basic mixed colors. and i was thinking something like the Flabebe or Unown line. and as for the eggs, there's an egg for each step- and the other two are only introduced when the breeding comes out, as they are unobtainable and that wouldn't be fair. and to be honest, now that i think about it, black could be removed and white could be only used for pink. i was thinking that there's few primary, a tad bit less secondary, then more tertiary, but, since tertiary are harder to get it balances out. and i don't want more of a certain type. i want it to be around the same. and it won't be garunteed you get this color, more like Kinaster- more parent eggs then the new generation eggs

Again. You add 1,232 sprites for each color. if you go hues, that's even more! The Art Staff is already overworked!

Could you please give an estimate to how many colors there would be? Or, better yet, make a list of the colors you would want to include? If it's too many colors to write out, I think it's too many to expect people to hatch/to expect the art team to work on. (keep in mind, every color is multiplied 4 times in terms of sprites) I don't agree with 'an egg for each step'. That just seems suuuuuper clunky. Not having the full line available during the tournament itself, and having to wait 3-5 months for two tournies to pass before we even start seeing the full line? Not great. Not to even mention how, when exclusive pokes are introduced, they have a SIGNIFICANTLY lowered breeding rate. And having that combined with, as you said, built-in lowered breeding rates a la kinaster??? Nononononononono. And again, not to even mention that a person wanting to keep arceus would be REQUIRED to break/pause their chain or to use 2 egg passes in order to get the eggdexes required. Normal tourney eggs do not break chains, but bred eggs like these would. I don't think this concept works at all, if they were to be separate egg and pokedexes for each forme/step, just purely because of the no-breeding stipulation for all new exclusives besides variants.

well, that's easy 4 for the primary step 5 for the secondary step, and then one inbetween color, for example, instead of there just being "red-orange" and "orange-red" it's just "red-orange" or about 20 colors, i think. a grand total of 29 colors times three is 87, and then i'm not sure how they do the deltas, so i'll exclude them. and that plus, i was thinking something that looked like the Flabebe line. Not everything needs resprited and redone, just minor parts.

Even so, it's a completely new sprite. 29 colors, times 4 (normal, shiny, albino, melan) is 116. That's a lot of sprites. 116 sprites PER POKEMON used in this. Uh...no.
