"Please, no", "I did no such thing", both lines came out simultaneously from Lynn and Kuja. Kuja glared at the redhead holding the rapier against his neck. "I was simply on my way to get a job of my own, after all I have no means to defend myself in this world." "I overheard everything in the inn, the innkeeper made it very clear that you're not welcome in this town. I suggest you leave", she snapped at him. "It's far too dangerous to leave the town without any means to protect myself", he said, feigning innocence. Lynn rolled her eyes, but then lowered her rapier. "Very well, but I suggest you get out of town the moment you get a job." Foolish girl, Kuja thought as he walked past her, a grin on his face. Lynn caught a glimpse of it and grabbed him by his robes. "You're lying, it's about that girl isn't it? Didn't you learn anything at the inn? She doesn't want to go with you. Now get out or I will kick you out myself!" ----- Having felt extremely tired and still in a fair amount of pain after Odin's removal of her mage pact, Mizuki had let herself fall down on a bed. "Tomorrow, huh..." she said softly, still not entirely sure what to think. If Kuja came here without powers, just like her, then did that mean he was put on the same path as her, whatever that path was?

The Hustle and bustle of the hall suddenly died down, the eyes of all on the situation that was unfolding, a small girl, no older than five walked up, a spoon in one hand, she took one look at Kuja, "Ew, bad man!" and proceeded use an Ice Spell to force him out, if there was something humiliating, it would be getting overpowered by a five year old magic user. Kuja would need to learn his place swiftly if he was going to keep his integrity and pride intact.

Having been kicked out of the job hall, by a 5 year old no less, made Kuja wonder what the hell was up with this world and its odd ways. In his entire life, he'd never been this powerless. Realizing he'd have to try a different approach to get some kind of power here, he walked back to a bench near the inn, and decided to wait until Mizuki would come outside. He knew his words had reached her before; it was just a matter of time before she'd reach out to him herself. ---- Lynn looked at the small mage that sent the silver haired man away so easily. "That...was absolutely amazing", she mused with a chuckle, then turned to Alex. "Right! Did you finish up everything?"

Rowan left the armory, carrying a bag of new clothes and a water canister over his shoulder. He really was quite impressed with this place, he could've used a store like that several times over during his travels.As he walked back toward the inn, he saw the silver haired guy who'd been following the group earlier. Judging by how the innkeeper had been treating him, and the fact that group of people by the job hall seemed to be quietly laughing at him, Rowan had feeling that this guy was not in the best of ways in the village. Rowan paused, opening his bag and puling out a dark blue robe. "You're not going to get very far if no one respects you." Rowan said, walking over to the guy and offering the Robe.

Kuja stared at the man walking over to him, the idea of respect making him chuckle slightly. "The old man at the inn holds a grudge against me, it would appear that is what has the town turned against me. All I wanted was to visit my friend who'd been brought in there", he said calmly. He didn't care much for the robe, after all he was dressed just fine; people in this world just had no fashion sense.

Rowan shrugged and put the robe back in his bag. "work to turn town the other way then. What'd you do to make him hold a grudge?"

Alex was about ready to kick Silver Head out himself for his shady behaviour, but as soon as the young mage showed up and took care of it Alex just stared dumbfoundedly at her as Nicole burst out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter and fell to the ground "Oh GOD if I ever have kids I'm raising them to be like the little mage here!" Nicole continued her laughter as Alex snapped back to attention after hearing Lynn "Uh, yeah I just-" Alex looked back to the counter and saw the girl waving him over "Oh!" Alex quickly went to the counter as the girl smiled at him "We just finished going over your application." "Even with that whole fiasco going on?" "Yes, we pride ourselves on efficency and upon review it would seem your best suited to be a mercenary." Upon hearing the result, Alex was a bit dissapointed "Oh...you sure?" The girl nodded "Yes, our process is 100% accurate and paired hundreds to the job that was perfect for them." Alex sighed a bit "Well I guess I can't argue with that..." The girl then handed him a small blue crystal "Now just take this and your Job will be set." Alex was hesitant at first. Being refered to as a mercenary and not a knight or soldier didn't sit quite right with him as most mercenaries he ran into were just greedy soldiers who didn't care about the cause, just the money they got for the job. The girl at the counter saw Alex's hesitance and remember reading on the application that he was a Knight, she tried to encourage him "You know, not all mercenaries are bad people. Many gladly fight freely because they believe it's the right thing to do. Even becoming heros for those who lost hope in the darkest of times. Remember, man isn't judged by his title, but by his actions." The attendant held the Crystal out again and after listening to her, Alex realised she was right and nodded with a smile "Heh, you're absolutely right. Thank you." Alex reached out and grabbed the crystal which enveloped him in a dim blue glow then vanished. He blinked a few times and looked at his hands while clenching them into fists "Well...it's certainly feels like I got a tiny bit something back...kinda was expecting more though."

Kuja shook his head. "With that Eidolon's influence, I'm surprised they haven't killed me on sight yet. Of course it just had to be Odin", the frustration and humiliation had started to hit and it annoyed him greatly. Odin and Bahamut had to be the two Eidolons who held the greatest grudges against him. His past actions to attain power were all in order to keep his soul, yet all that power was now gone in a heartbeat. Still, with the mage pact, he could get most of that back. But how would he go around that, if both threatening and manipulating weren't options he could use? "I had someone use his past aspect to annihilate an entire city, manipulated a queen into starting a war that spread over an entire continent, completely destroyed my home planet. Well, you get the idea, I'm not a nice person", he then said. --- Noticing Alex using the job crystal, Lynn walked up to him. "It doesn't feel entirely spectacular, does it? Though I heard it's possible to advance in jobs, so sooner or later I'm sure we can get a lot of our abilities back", she said with a smile.

Alex heard Lynn mention advancements in jobs which made him let out another frustrated sigh "This place sure likes to make things complicated doesn't it." Alex shrugged and look backed at the attendant who seemed ready to take another applicant, this confused Alex "Uh...isn't this the part you take me to get outfitted?" The girl looked at Alex a smiled "Oh, no need to worry about that. Your giggling friend over there explained your situation." She then quickly jotted several things down on paper and handed to Alex "If you're going to the equipment store, these would be the best equipment choices for your job. Of course you are free to choose what you feel most comfortable with." Alex just looked surprised as he took the note and scratched his head "Uh...ok then. Thanks." The girl nodded "Not a problem. Oh and I do hope your condition clears up one day." "Huh?" just as Alex was about to question the girls comment, Nicole had recovered from her laughing fit and quickly dragged Alex away "Geez slowpoke, that took forever. Let's go get you all armored up now." Alex's feet dragged along the ground as Nicole pulled him. He wanted to know what the girl at the job hall meant when she said 'you're condition' By the goddess Nicole...what did you say?

"I see..." Rowan said, regretting trying to help this person a moment ago. "Well, good luck with whatever you plan to do next. I'm gonna head back to the inn." Turning he went into the inn, trying not to walk too quickly. He grabbed a seat at the bar, taking off his bow and quiver and setting them down next to him. He could use a drink. maybe they had some pangalactic-garbleblasters in stock. He doubted it. So instead he just asked for whatever the waitress thought was good.
