PMD: Deep Shadows RP Thread [OPEN RP] [SEMI-LIT]
Shadow rushed in to help. "Scuse me coming through!" Mischief has little choice but to follow, but her eyes lock with Shadow's and he directs a blade to point at the Scyther. Shadow asks "Can you launch a Dark Pulse thataway?" Mischief nods and fires without thinking. A moment later she realizes Shadow just dragged her into a fight, and that she used a move that could potentially give her away. She prayed the Scyther didn't happen to have Croagunk's movepool memorized. It was possible he had, if unlikely.
Always remember... Dark is not Evil, and Light is not Good. Well, unless you're Game Freak. (The Dark Type is called "Aku" in Japan, which means "Evil".) Avatar made from B2W2 Sprite by yours truly.
The Scyther frowned, veering out of the way of the Dark Pulse. Where'd all this company come from? It'd be almost impossible to steal anything now. His best option now was to get the heck out of dodge. He flew away as quick as he could towrds the other side of town.

Mischief waits til the Scyther is out of earshot, and immediately starts fuming at Shadow. "What the heck Shadow?! I coulda got hurt if..." She suddenly stops, realizing she was in public. She shivered. Shadow crossed his arms. "Listen, I know what I'm doing. Unless you're willing to risk yourself you'll never save him. Period. No, exclamation point! You need to be willing to endanger yourself, and sometimes it's necessary to risk more than injuries." He pointed a blade at the disguised pup rather emphatically. "YOU need to learn to stand up on your own feet." Mischief lowered her eyes, looking away. Shadow looked around and waved at the other Pokemon, not caring that he likely looked a bit ridiculous. Mischief growled at him "Stop drawing attention to us..." She hated standing out in a crowd.
Jeremy gave a heavy sigh. Things were okay now. Vivian practically stomped over as she angrily glared at him. Jeremy just quietly stared at her, before blurting out, "WHAT?!" "I wanted to help dude!" "Well, you know the circumstances Vivi." Vivian just groaned, and shook her head. She hugged her friend, if only a quick one. "Look, I get it. You're just tryna protect me..." "Yes, I am. Now come on, let's get going." Jeremy grabbed Vivian's arm and began walking away, Vivian quietly following. He seemed to be a bit upset himself, his face kind of red. Vivian herself was just quietly staring at everyone as the two began walking down the town path. They were looking for a place to stock up on items, and that was the only thing they originally came for.
The Scyther landed in a dusty alleyway near a makeshift shelter made of cloth and crates "Rookie mistake, Sid," he muttered to himself, kicking a pebble against a wall. "Why'd you have to go attract a crowd?!" He lifted up the canvas flap serving as the shelter's doorway and sat inside with a huff. It'd be best to lie low for a bit in case any of those Pokemon alerted the sheriff.
Caroline dropped the wooden shield, looking around. "Oookay then." She wondered if she should ask why she was suddenly a pokemon. No, they'd all think I'm crazy. Caroline felt tempted to chase after that scyther, but she couldn't do much besides punching him without any type of move, so probably not the best idea. Caroline decided she should probably talk to someone, though, to at least get an idea of where in the world she was. Well, the two pokemon that had gotten attacked were already leaving, and the other two.. well they really didn't look like they wanted to be bothered. Ray looked out at the now-ending chaos from his hiding spot, his tail twitching slightly. "Okay, Penny, please stay here for a few moments. I might be able to get something for us to eat if you can stay here." The little sparkly eevee looked extremely unhappy, but despondently agreed. Ray quickly made his way out of the alley, looking around. The yellow flower atop his head felt wonderful in the sunlight, but there was no time to waste on basking in the warmth. Ray glanced around, looking for a spot to hide while he waited for the right opportunity. A small voice inside his head nagged him, saying what he was doing was wrong. Well, what's worse? Me and Penny starving, or some rich shopkeeper loosing a couple of berries?
Shadow cheerfully leaned against the nearest support, blade-arms crossed. "Hey Mischief?" The disguised pup snapped "Now what?" "Think I'll Evolve soon?" The pup's true eyes briefly shone through her Illusion. "Hardly. I'll Evolve first if you keep dragging me into fights. Pawniard Evolve really slowly." Shadow would've been blatantly grinning if Pawniard mouths were apparent. "It's like getting a pawn to the other side of the chess board! Tough, but worth it!" Mischief groaned. "You and your sunshine-and-rainbows idealism. The world isn't nice. There's a dark gritty underside, which we just encountered NOT TWENTY SECONDS AGO! You're gonna get me hurt and then I won't be able to... Save him..." She swallowed and forced back tears. Shadow rather pointedly, uh, pointed at her. "You need to get stronger too. All these fights I'm dragging you into, aside from being to help others, are helping you learn to fight! I can't save Maverick for you, little girl! Ya gotta grow up and be brave enough to do it yourself! I'm not blind to the bad things that happen everyday. But I choose to do the right thing whenever I can. You can't afford to just run away! If you do, you'll never save him!" Mischief looked down. Shadow was right. Running away from trouble wouldn't save Maverick. She'd have to confront it at some point.
Amidst the chaos, Ray noticed a small stand that had been left unattended. It seems nobody's watching.. Ray made a much more careful sweep of the area, before casually walking forward, and strolling by the stand. He glanced briefly over the wares. Ray's gaze locked on a couple of apples. He glanced around briefly, before calmly grabbing them and then nonchalantly trotting back to where Penny remained hidden. It's just two apples, they won't be missed. "Oh!" Penny peeked out from her hiding place, her eyes lighting up at the sight of food. "Shh. C'mon, we gotta get back home first." Ray gently nudged the little sparkling eevee down the alley, occasionally glancing behind him. He held the two apples carefully, not wanting to drop or bruise them.
