Caramina glanced back at those who were accompanying her. She studied them all briefly and nodded, continuing to march away into the woods. Once she got into the trees again, she looked around for any animal prints, inspecting trees as well and peeking into any hollows made by rocks or roots or branches. Any dry spot could be a boon, not only for dry firewood, but for shelter and keeping out of the cold and damp. As she looked, she did spot a few traces of animal life - but she found no animals. She managed to gather an armful of decently dry twigs and branches, stuff that probably wouldn't burn the NICEST, but that WOULD burn. Not that she would be joining any campfire they made. She also managed to find some berry bushes with frozen, shrivelled berries on them. She determined that one bush was a rose bush, but couldn't identify the other, so she left the second one alone and just stuffed her pockets full of frozen rosehips. They would be sweeter after being frozen, and weren't easily rotted due to low moisture content...it was just unadvisable to eat more than a few at a time. The entire time she was foraging, she was also keeping an eye and an ear out for her fellow foragers. She trusted them insofar as ensuring their own survival an finding food and whatnot for that goal - but she was sure that, if they got desperate or felt like it, they would eagerly turn on her and on each other just to save their own skins. It was what she would do, after all. So she watched her back while filling her pockets and a bag made of her apron, and kept a sturdy, jagged stick in hand whenever she was nearby someone else.
