Sometimes pokemon just dont mesh, it takes some testing to get a good pair unfortunately. I'm assuming you had a friend test them for you? OT Doesn't get reset unless the pokemon goes through the shelter (or the pokemon is older before Wonder Trading was updated or something along those lines where it didn't show the owner history). A good bet is sending over a bunch of Beldum to test all of them with said ditto and hope for the best. There's some rumor stats have something to do with it but unless a staff member can elaborate on that, take it with a grain of salt.
