I totally forgot about transmuting gems into bigger ones and since I have a lot of fragments I can transform some extras into wind gems without having to defeat the wind cube boss. On the other hand, the tower defense mini game is getting harder and harder. Those floating ruin guards is a bit of a hassle because it's too fast to be defeated...
