Hi, I’m Wildfire, and I guess you need a recap. Okay, long story short: I died. I’m a dead housecat the size of a lynx with not the weirdest fur I’ve seen spirits have. I’m looking for my human Eliza. I know she wasn’t qualified for Heaven, going purely off what I had heard from the spirits. Animals didn’t go to the designated afterlives- just humans. They were split into four primary elements: Fire, Water, Grass, and Sky. There is a special type of element simply called Soul - in charge of life and death itself. The First Soul and The Second Soul are the rulers of the afterlives humans go to while animals roam the skies in the form of spirits unlikely to see their humans again. You know the deal. But anyway, I think we need to head back to where we were. “So,” Said The Second, ruler of Hell, the afterlife of the rest. The afterlife of those who simply weren’t up to The First’s standards, and more peaceful then you’d expect. Both The Second and I were in our humanoid forms. I was a dark-skinned woman, nothing too interesting, short but slim. The feline ears and muzzle were still intact- bright purple fur of the afterlife in the form of hair shaved to the top of the ear on one side and down to my chin on the other, streaks of various pink shades lining the tips, casual clothes similar to those of my human upon both of our demises you know the deal. The Second was rather short- a tad bit more on the feminine side then androgynous. Their hair was a light purple, tipped with orangey-yellow and shoulder length. They wore a simple outfit, a black tank top with a smokey grey miniskirt, and black boots. A pair of red, square glasses sat on their face. I had heard whispers from religious humans that the Second was a cruel being of punishment. I didn’t quite catch that vibe, though, recalling a few other demons going “Okay Karen” and brushing it off, so I was hoping for a positive experience. Their mouth opened, voice not matching what you’d expect out of the ruler of Hell. It was fun and bouncy, with just a pinch of hidden formality, “So what makes a simple fire spirit, free to roam the Earth as she pleases, wants to stay in this place so long? Maybe you’re looking for somebody?” Their dark eyes glittered with curiosity. I opened my mouth. I didn’t really know what to say. I tried to stutter out a sentence, unsure if they were going to laugh at me and tell me something every other spirit knew. I was a very new spirit, only about a year I had spent in the afterlife - for reference, I was 3 years old when I died. The person's eyes batted, I felt like I was wasting their time. I babbled as they smiled, but it wasn’t a bad smile or an ominous one, it was… happy. They changed into their animal form, a raven nearly as large as me, perhaps bigger, with a typical coloring for the most part. Just a smidge more purple then black then a living raven. The most interesting part about them was probably the orange and yellow markings on the tip of their feathers. “Let’s take a walk, Fiery.” Was what I heard next. I was dumbfounded. What had I done? Or… what hadn’t I? Was I not seeing something? Changing into my animal form, a bright purple cat with pretty cool firelike marking on my back, the stripes on my ears of the same color as my mark, and paws that were - you guessed it - the same color as my other markings, a light pink, a dark hot pink, and a lighter hot pink. There was a long part of fur on the side of my head, and my eyes were just blue. Like ocean diamonds, My owner would say from my time alive, since I was lucky to still have them, I kinda couldn’t help but smile from that.
