i always think about the concept of the very first and the very last person to do something that is very popular
like, especially for games + websites + stuff
i always wonder like, when will be the last time someone uses neopets? someone plays tf2?
assuming these are of natural ends, and not like, caused by the whole world exploding fjdksljfdslk or some tech disaster
like, if time went on long enough like....will there be a final person who plays SM64? emulated or otherwise?
like, if humanity still somehow exists like, 100, 200 years from now...will these concepts like, still exist? i know for sites/online games its more likely for them to stop functioning bc of servers, but for single player video games like...will there still be people who speedrun SMB in 2200? 2500? there would have to be, right?
i feel like, unless something goes horribly wrong in terms of Humans Existing or of technology staying in place/still being accessible...like...i feel like The Last Time for these things literally will never come until outside forces stop it
or at the very least, its outside of my conceivable thoughts that there would be no one interested in doing/continuing these things given an ideal State Of Being(tm) (like yeah, if its the apocalypse ppl prolly aint gunna be speedrunning but like, if everythings okay like....wouldnt there still be?)
