Well even shorthair cats have somewhat long hair. If you’ve ever seen the difference in the neck fur where a collar has been for example. But I think a lot of the long hair cats are actually mediumhair (at least by the definitions I’m aware of) The longhair gene is even recessive to shorthair :0 but yeah cold dreary england probably favours longer hair - after all cloudpaw is said to be able to stay out longer in the snow because of his long thick fur. Being able to endure the cold = better chance of finding prey, so from a realistic standpoint longhair cats would be favoured for their slight edge! But cats are actually really fuzzy and I think it suits :) But yeah i’d chalk it down to a style change - the new artist really defines the fur texture way more than the original artist. I think he takes better into account the differing directions of hairs on the face especially which is a big plus from me ahaha Even pulled up some official art to say Bluestar not silverybluestar lol But damn those turquoise eyes are gorgeous Got some real yellowfang look vibes going on ahaha but I’d imagine she’s certainly not happy since Thistleclaw and Snowfur are not her otp Looking at the new covers again a lot of these eyes are stunning. They’re so vibrant and ahhh just beautiful :0
