Single post in Zero's Wall of Ramblings

I'm apparently great on the tills. So great I'm rarely off the blooming things, yet my boss keeps telling me to get off them and get better with shop floor tasks. Easier said than done when only one other colleague aside from myself will spend a full shift on them. If someone else starts, they're given a task. Me? Off to the tills please. Mr. Boss Man, if you want me to spend more time on the shop floor, stop putting me on the tills when I start my shift! I'm arguably worse on the shop floor though, so maybe that's my boss trying to tiptoe around the issue of being stuck with someone unfit for the role because he needs staff. Haha... probably. Tonight was really bad though. I got so angry at myself that I got myself worked up and frustrated. By 7pm I had just had enough. I was the only one jumping on tills when it got busy but even then it took me 2 hours to tidy up two aisles, which is way too long. So I'm dragging everyone else down because I am too meticulous when it comes to tidying the shelves. But the frustration I was feeling was fine, I was angry at myself. But what broke me was being told half heartedly by two different people how to waste shop goods and then being expected to clear at least three days of waste in the half an hour before close. Learning a system based off a print out on the wall, being told to stick to it by one person and disregard it by the other. Leading me to become utterly confused and frustrated that I was being spoken too like my questions were annoying (from the tone of one of my colleagues anyway). And not even having all the bags I needed to waste items correctly. I couldn't do all of it, so with three minutes before the shop closed for the night I stopped. Then my colleague (same one as before who got annoyed at my questions) seemed unimpressed that I'd stopped and done so little, their facial expression and the briefly raised eyebrow said it all. Yet I guarantee they'd also have been annoyed if I'd kept going past 11pm and kept them and everyone else waiting. That's a common trend where I work honestly. Nobody seems to care and gets away with it. I take a moment to question something and I get shot down, brushed off because I'm the newbie and I should "just do it like such and such does" nobody cares if the boss or supervisor said otherwise. I'm wrong, they're right. Heck, the freezer at the front of store broke and I told two supervisors that the goods inside had melted and weren't fit for sale but nothing has been done about it because "it's been broken for ages." ... SO, why are there ice creams in there if you know the freezer is broken?! The worst of it is that this is the second time it's happened within a few months and I was the one who reported it last time too! Summer is coming, that freezer needs to be fixed! >:/ I know I'll be all right after a night's sleep, as tiredness from a eight and a half hour shift (where I didn't bother taking breaks because I felt guiltily for being behind schedule) plus nothing to eat and an energy drink probably wasn't helping my emotional state. Nevermind, I'm off tomorrow so at least I can take a break from it all. Then it's right back to work. Haha, being an adult is so much fun!
