Ripples in time, the cascading wave
As it travels down from one soul to another
And shakes the very foundation we've built upon
So carelessly throwing our eyes back to the source
The aftershock, oh so much more widespread
The broken vase, the shattered lines
Every little thing we tied together with hate and malice
The ripples down from our own fingers
As we blame another for the troubles we've bred
Was it not our own conscience?
Our own twisted desires that led to this ruin
That we now walk upon so carelessly
The claw visible now as it traces the lines,
The lies we whispered to the night
Time after time screaming for our own murder
Was it not within our limits to begin?
This tortured ritual we started so long ago
The roots trailing back to our fallen beginning
Such a thing we ripped apart given the slightest chance
Yet not all is lost, the ripples felt even now
Cannot be contained, but they can be redirected
Might we write a better ending with our own blood?
Such a thing that we've spilled so needlessly
Might it be time to create a new ripple?
Another shock to wake the world from its slumber
Another quake to reshape the foundation to light
And shatter the fallen story, it's time to write our own
